A. That depends on you as a person. I was in all honors and AP classes all through high school. I was also involved in several clubs, a cheerleader for football and basketball, and worked part time. I graduated with a 4.0 average. If you are organized and self-motivated it can definitely happen.

Are My Classes for 10th-12th Grade Going To Cut It For College (Maybe Even Ivy League)?
Q. In 9th I took honors in science, English, and history, as well as normal 10th grade geometry. I also took classes in music history and algebra. For 10th, my anticipated schedule includes honors for all core subjects and Spanish I, aswell as Journalism 1. For 11th, I will take all honors for Spanish II, Pre-Cal, US History II, Chemistry, and AP for English. My elective will be Economics/Sociology. Finally, for senior year, I will be enrolled in AP classes for Calculus, Biology, History, English, honors for Spanish III, and I believe that my schedule will only be able to hold that much. I want to major in biotechnology + English, with a minor in education so that I can teach. Do I really need AP history in senior year, and will… [cont.]

A. It seems like a good plan but you'd be better off asking your guidance counselor at the school you attend. They'd be better equipped for that.

What do you Learn in highschool? 10th-12th grade?
Q. like in certain subects, What type of math you HAVE to know when you get to highschool, and what kind of math do you learn... same with the other subjects ^^; just mainly math! ty
Asked by Lyssie - Fri Aug 31 14:12:16 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. for the math in high school, you have to know algebra, and understand the fundamentals. You need to know rules like pemdas (parentheses, exponent, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction), but you don't need much more than that. You just need the rules and knowledge from algebra for math. In all the other subjects, you don't really need to know outside stuff, except maybe rules for writing in English and history, and how to make a bibliography, MLA style. But you really need to understand algebra. Wow, I said that a lot. but you do need it.

A. Well, you could go up and take your GED now, then you wouldn't have to finish the rest. You wouldn't 'graduate' but you will have a high school diploma equivalent and can go on to get a job that a HS Diploma would give you or even go off to college now if that is what you want. However, know that getting a GED would mean that you wouldn't be in a graduation ceremony because you wouldn't be graduating. The GED would be faster, but I would recommend looking into the IEP diploma first. You can always go for your GED, but the IEP diploma sounds like a one-shot type thing.

A. Most high schools are 10th - 12th grade. 7th - 9th is called a Escuela Intermedio or roughly translated a Middle/Junior School. Elementary schools usually go K - 6th. When my parents moved back to the island when I was 14, I entered high school or 10th grade. It's really no difference. One thing I did learn was that you'll probably excel in English, because it really entails alot of reading, and not much grammar. By the same token Spanish was difficult for me, because even though, mami y papi, spoke to us all the time, and I could read it a little at the time, I really didn't practice much. A. My first suggestion is to take as many life science classes as you can in HS (biology, anatomy and physiology, organic chemistry, etc.) Next, get a job in a health care facility of some kind. That could be as a nursing assistant, a food aid at a hospital, an office assistant at a doctor's office, a assistant in a long-term facility for children, a dialysis aid at an outpatient clinic... even volunteer as a transporter at the hospital. Find something in your area and be prepared for the work to be hard at times, gross at times, exhausting at times! Investigate the nursing schools you might be interested in. The sooner you get into clincals and the more hours you spend in hands-on learning the better. Consider a LPN or Associates… [cont.]

A. I don't understand "World Literature". Here in America we speak English. There are 2 primary sources of English literature: America and Great Britain. I had American Lit in 11th grade, followed by British Lit in 12th grade. Perhaps they should teach multicultural Zulu tribesman literature in elementary school.

A. With the high school curricular being easier each year, reflects on the college where the classes are getting easier and honors are being passed out like cereal coupons. As management for several years, some of the applicants were absolutely clueless of the accounting and finance fields even though they had degrees in the field and in some cases, Master's degrees. The courses should be harder and the secondary education should go through the 12th grade so that the graduate would be useful in business and industry.

Q. Im planning as early as now... 9th grade- ??? 10th grade- should i go to summer school? 11th grade- ??? 12th grade- ??? Can someone tell me what productive things i can do during summer that will help enhance my high school transcript.

A. During your high school summers, you should do something productive that interests you. For example, if you're interested in science, you can apply to do research in labs. It is a great idea to go to summer school, since it'll make your whole school year less stressful, and help you achieve better grades. You might want to do it earlier in your high school careers, since there are more opportunities for upperclassmen. Research different camps that take place outside your community- it's educational and usually fun! It's a great way to make new friends too (:

A. As long as you take the proper courses to be a pilot, you can be a pilot. Look for a flight school in your area that will give you the details. There are no high school prerequisites. You do need a lot of money though. If you take a course through a college or University, their requirements may be different.

A. First of all, you need to be mature enough to handle a relationship with someone older. The age difference is usually two or three years, but in high school it can be a big difference. He might just laugh if you hit on him, because you're just some "little sophomore chick." You also have to ask yourself if it's worth it. He's probably going to college soon, which means a lot of time away from you. And if he's VERY hot, there's a chance he's wanted by other VERY hot college girls. Are you ready for heartbreak if he cheats on you with a college girl? Don't say "Oh, he wouldn't do that!" Because by the looks of it, it seems like you don't know him on a personal basis. He might be a total jerk and just laugh if you ask him out. Before even… [cont.]

A. As long as you dont get too "physical" there wont be any problems. Just follow your heart. Girls are always attracted to older guys.

A. Colleges don't just look at your grades, especially not just those from the 9th grade. You'll also need good scores on the SAT or ACT, depending on where you apply - so make sure you have started studying those and take timed practice exams (you can do this at your local library - they almost always have the study books in their reference section.) They also should do practice tests at your school - you can ask your counselor. You should study hard and strive to get as many A's and high scores on tests as you can, but you also need to prove that you are a well-rounded individual. Colleges give preference to people who have done other things than "just study" during high school. Get involved with a club or two, the band, or your church.… [cont.]

A. Colleges do not just look at your GPA, but also look at your extra curricular activities, volunteer work, and ACT or SAT scores. Do well in these areas and you'll increase your chances of getting into a good school.
