A. That is a great topic, the formation and eruption of the primary and the permanent dentition. This site will give you the standard time frame for eruption and shedding of the deciduous and the eruption of the permanent dentition. You can go into detail about the formation, the teeth start out as buds then form over time. You may want to look at the wisdom teeth or the 3rd molars and their formation and eruption. This site will give you a good start. Good luck!

A. I've found that using a little paint can really make posters stand out (and be a lot prettier than just using markers!). Make it colorful. You don't have to be a talented artist, just writing some words in paint and putting a border around everything will help a lot.

What should I do for my asteroid/meteor/meteorite science project?
Q. Project due december 5th. Need some ideas. I need some "outside the box" ideas to get a good grade. Anything on asteroids/meteors/meteori tes. The one I choose to do will recieve a best answer. I don't like doing clay, drawing, or poster making. I like electronic. If you have any free animation programs they are welcome. Thanks a lot. Keep the answers coming please. The more the merrier!

A. Since it's *your* project, what do you have in mind? I like the idea of meteor scatter reception. You could see how reception varies through the day, for example. You might even see if you can estimate the height of the trails.

A. Okay, one of his famous love letters to Zelda is this one: you could get a piece of parchment looking paper from FedEX/Kinkos and start writing it out in really fancy cursive or calligraphy (you wouldn't have to do the whole thing I don't think) He considered himself part of the Lost Generation (along with Hemingway and West) you could make a crazy looking compass with North at the bottom and West at the top, etc... He always said "There are no second acts in American lives" ...you could put that quote on there somewhere. Or you could just put ACT I on the poster and explain what it means (there is no second act...) His tombstone has a quote from 'The Great Gatsby" you could put that on there "So we beat on, boats against the… [cont.]

A. a beach theme would be good, and if you have a picture of your dog on the beach even better . Like the other person said, Michael's store has a lot of beach stuff and Joann's may have some to. Pier I imports has stuff also. you could go on the internet and get beach themed pictures to print out. you could put up some seashells in your locker also. I'm sure it'll look great!

Ideas for a tween girls bedroom?
Q. My daughter is 11 years old and is going into the 5th grade. Her bedroom has 3 walls pink and 1 wall purple. It is really babyish and she wants to redo it. I wont paint her walls which is a problem. She can rearrange her furniture and get rid of all her stuff that she doesn't want. She has a white desk, dresser, and twin bed. She is covering her walls with really cool magazine photos and posters to cover up the pink and purple. Do y'all have any thing that might be helpful to us, and if so please tell em or leave me a webpage. Thankyou Also her floor is shaggy purple.
Asked by Aly - Fri Aug 14 21:16:54 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. What if you keep the pink and purple and then do silver stars along one wall. Maybe a hollywood theme and have your daughters put handprints on the wall like that chinese theatre or walk of fame? Grab some feather boas and buy some old cameras from a flea market and fix them to the wall- also have a fun photo shoot with her friends and frame those on the wall. That'd keep her well into her teen years and those are great little things on a small budget!

Idea about planet project..?
Q. Okay so I asked a similar question and I thought I needed to ask something lie it again with more details. I have to do an in class teacher presentation for a job next year. Its for a 5th grade class and I need to do something that will not be more than an hour nor will it take away from what the teacher will be teaching at another time. I was thinking of doing a science project because it will get all students involved. However doing a science project would involve me purchasing a lot of supplies. SO I found this other idea on them doing commercials for planets. We would learn a bit about the planets for the first 30 minutes and then I would split them into groups and have them create a poster board with facts and pictures about planets.… [cont.]

A. I think it sounds like a good idea, just make sure you have it really structured so it fits in the time allowed. I had my students do something similar. Instead of an advertisement, they designed travel brochures. Be careful to scaffold the assignment thoughtfully. Think of exactly which facts you will expect them to include in their ad - distance from the sun, average temperature, etc. I would recommend making up a worksheet where they can record this information in those first 30 minutes. Also, I would have them search out this information on their own from books you have checked out from the library that you know have the facts they need. This way you are also addressing research and reading standards. I think it might be tough… [cont.]

A. for the signs-- make them as birght and easy to read as possible. and make a variety of different sayings. if theyre bright and easy to read it will attract the younger kids attention. and make sure you post them evenly spaced around the whole school. other stuff-- as school presdient do you have enough power to call fun days? at my elementary school, we always did things like field day where you play games outside all day. or a bike rodeo where everyone competed for the best bike riding skills. or maybe you could plan some fun assemblys. just do whatever you can to provide your school with fun activites goodluck(:

Home school classroom ideas?

A. If you go onto there are several photos of various homeschool "rooms" you can look at. Some other ideas are to hang things from the ceiling. My kids love that! We have all the things you mentioned above in our classroom. I think the key to keeping it fresh is just rotating the various materials you have and maybe adding some new posters, etc... We do a bulletin board theme each month as well. They love seeing what new things will be up on the board. I do it while they're sleeping, and its kind of a surprise for them!
