what is a good 6th grade science project?
Q. I will be starting 6th grade on tuesday and on the last day of 5th grade our new middle school gave everyone a folder with a ton of homework in it. One part was a science project i looked on google but everything you have to pay to get info about it. The homework isn't the actual project but you have to do a bibliography worksheet so i need a really good topic that i need to research on. Thanks!

A. When I was in 5th grade I won 1st place out of the entire school with a science project I did on "Which battery lasts the longest." I went out and bought like 7 flashlights (the same ones) and I put different brands of batteries in each one. I labeled them and then I turned them on at night (for a few weeks) and I waited until each of them gave out. The one that lastest the longest for me wasn't actually the energizer bunny. It was Duracell. The generics gave out first...It was pretty interesting when I did it. Maybe you could have the same success. Good luck!

Q. I am a Junior in high school and must "teach" a 6th grade science class on Earth Day. I am scared out of my mind. I know I would like to have a few fun worksheets...but I am sure I need some general information on Earth day (pollution, green house effect, etc.)...I guess a small lecture. Q. I'm in the 6th grade and I missed the entire year of school because I was in special ed for ede (anger management) and I get classes as time goes on and I want to learn because I did horrible at the MCA's and I want to improve so where can I learn all the curriculum so next year I don't get F's and also I don't want just worksheets I want to know what the stuff is like I tried a site that didn't explain and I didn't know what place values are.

A. There are two ways to do it. I'll show you one. Know that 1 mile is 1760 yards. 3 miles 500 yards - 1 mile 800 yards Like regular subtraction, start from the right and subtract 800 from 500 yards. But you can't do that. So you have to "borrow" 1 mile which is 1760 yards. Add 1760 to 500 2 miles 2260 yards - 1 mile 800 yards Now you can subtract and get 1 mile 1460 yards

A. Hi Dandan, If you Google 'Punctuation Rules' you will find most everything you need about punctuation and there are also links to other interesting material including Grammar. By Mechanics, do you mean mechanics in general or Auto Mechanics? if the latter, then if you google 'Auto mechanics' this should provide you with general information. Another search that might be useful is How Engines Work? Hope this helps.

A. You need to move your percentage decimal two places to the left which will give you .166. You always do that with your percentages when you're trying to find that percentage of another number. Then you will multiple $850 by .116 which will give you 141.1. That is how much commission will be earned (16.6%)! So the answer $107.10 is incorrect and the answer $141.1 is correct. Keep practicing and you will get better! =)

A. 25% 80 is 20 5% of 80 is 4 25% is one fourth right, so divide 80 by 4 5% is one twentith, so divide 80 by 20 or you could just say .05 * 80 = 4 and .25 * 80 = 20

A. A lot of special ed teachers actually go to places and ask for applications, explaining why it would be beneficial for their students. Now they don't actually return the aps, but it is a good idea to practice on real life materials. You can also download applications from websites.

Q. Currently I am a substitute teacher and today as I was working, I was following along the teacher's notes of what she had her students work on. (Social Studies 6th grade). They were working on a worksheet that dealt with economics's and globalization. It was about 5 pages long with short sections of information in it then questions at the end of the section. All during the first class, the kids were having a hard time understanding economics of the US and I found I was having to answer each student's question individually for the first half of the class.
