what is a good 6th grade science project?
Q. I will be starting 6th grade on tuesday and on the last day of 5th grade our new middle school gave everyone a folder with a ton of homework in it. One part was a science project i looked on google but everything you have to pay to get info about it. The homework isn't the actual project but you have to do a bibliography worksheet so i need a really good topic that i need to research on. Thanks!

A. When I was in 5th grade I won 1st place out of the entire school with a science project I did on "Which battery lasts the longest." I went out and bought like 7 flashlights (the same ones) and I put different brands of batteries in each one. I labeled them and then I turned them on at night (for a few weeks) and I waited until each of them gave out. The one that lastest the longest for me wasn't actually the energizer bunny. It was Duracell. The generics gave out first...It was pretty interesting when I did it. Maybe you could have the same success. Good luck!

Ridiculously Hard 6th grade assignment!?
Q. Yesterday my son (in 6th grade) came home with this worksheet. He could not figure much out so i tried to help him. After 45 minutes I had nothing. Wondering what you guys got on this. It's really challenging and kinda fun. Here it is (Read extra carefully) Logic Problem Valeria and her friends enjoy getting together for "girls night out" as often as they can, especially when there is something extra to celebrate. Their most recent celebrations were at five of their favorite restaurants, including Maria's, and each was chosen by the one celebrating (one woman was celebrating her child's graduation). Each place was at a different location in town (one was on Powell Street). From this information and the following clues, can you determine… [cont.]

A. There's a lot of disguised information to dig out. I'd start with a large 5-by-5 table with columns for first name, last name, restaurant name, restaurant location, and the celebration. There are five first names: Michelle, Callie, Sandy, Darcy, and Valeria. I think I'd put them in the first column in any order that you'd like. There are five last names: Vickers, Jones, Porter, Haley, and Olsen. There are five restaurants: Maria's, Armand's, The Eatery, The Bistro, and Club J. There are five locations: Chester Village, Kent Lane, Windsor Avenue, Centre Court, and Powell Street. There are also five celebrations: a house sale, a book publishing, a child's graduation, and two birthdays. You can either put each of these last four sets… [cont.]

6th grade activities for Earth day (april 22nd)?
Q. I am a Junior in high school and must "teach" a 6th grade science class on Earth Day. I am scared out of my mind. I know I would like to have a few fun worksheets...but I am sure I need some general information on Earth day (pollution, green house effect, etc.)...I guess a small lecture. I have been looking into finding a nice arts and crafts activity but have found absolutely nothing... Any advice/tips would be useful (I have a huge fear of public speaking). But I would also like help finding the materials needed (the worksheets, arts and crafts, etc.)... Thanks so much.

"he orders fractions" thats the solution, number four is =, number 7 is =, and number 14 is =, otherwise just go thru and make the proper sign next to each letter circle the letters and you'll know the other side is greater, and the answer to 21 is D: Ted, tell your teacher that if all the fractions are set to 20 only 18/20 of them are eat, Penelope eat 3/20, Simon eat 2/20, Gina eat 5/20 and, ted eat 8/20. tell me how it goes i'm intrested to see how i did, Crestonmerrill@yahoo.com.

Q. K well we need to do worksheets on " Compute with measures" and here is an example- 3 mi 500 yd - 1 mi 800 yd i dont get this so could someone explain to me step by step???
Asked by Aurora - Sun May 4 20:15:27 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. There are two ways to do it. I'll show you one. Know that 1 mile is 1760 yards. 3 miles 500 yards - 1 mile 800 yards Like regular subtraction, start from the right and subtract 800 from 500 yards. But you can't do that. So you have to "borrow" 1 mile which is 1760 yards. Add 1760 to 500 2 miles 2260 yards - 1 mile 800 yards Now you can subtract and get 1 mile 1460 yards

A. Hi Dandan, If you Google 'Punctuation Rules' you will find most everything you need about punctuation and there are also links to other interesting material including Grammar. By Mechanics, do you mean mechanics in general or Auto Mechanics? if the latter, then if you google 'Auto mechanics' this should provide you with general information. Another search that might be useful is How Engines Work? Hope this helps.

math homework help 6th grade?
Q. i need help with commission. the directions for the worksheet say to check the problems and see if they are true or false. so anyway, i will list one and tell me how to check if it is right or wrong please. so here it is: rate of commission=16.6% total sales=$850 commission=$107.10 is that right or wrong how do i check if it is right or wrong?? umm leo d i didnt understand u but that kool player guy is going to get best answer! ok?
Asked by Webkinz Lover - Fri Apr 11 13:21:24 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You need to move your percentage decimal two places to the left which will give you .166. You always do that with your percentages when you're trying to find that percentage of another number. Then you will multiple $850 by .116 which will give you 141.1. That is how much commission will be earned (16.6%)! So the answer $107.10 is incorrect and the answer $141.1 is correct. Keep practicing and you will get better! =)

A. 25% 80 is 20 5% of 80 is 4 25% is one fourth right, so divide 80 by 4 5% is one twentith, so divide 80 by 20 or you could just say .05 * 80 = 4 and .25 * 80 = 20

A. A lot of special ed teachers actually go to places and ask for applications, explaining why it would be beneficial for their students. Now they don't actually return the aps, but it is a good idea to practice on real life materials. You can also download applications from websites.

questions for full time teachers?
Q. Currently I am a substitute teacher and today as I was working, I was following along the teacher's notes of what she had her students work on. (Social Studies 6th grade). They were working on a worksheet that dealt with economics's and globalization. It was about 5 pages long with short sections of information in it then questions at the end of the section. All during the first class, the kids were having a hard time understanding economics of the US and I found I was having to answer each student's question individually for the first half of the class.
