A. in my state, FLorida, the final is worth 10% of your final grade. Failing the final would definately bring your grade down, but probably by one letter grade. now with telling your parents, there is no way to avoid it, unless they know youre a good student and do not bother asking for proof if you receive the grade you claimed you had

I'm pretty sure my schedule for 9th Grade is going to be hard... What do you think?
Q. School starts on Wednesday, the 3rd.. here's my schedule: 1. Honors English 9 2. Advanced PE (It's just regular PE, =]) 3. Jazz Ensemble (I'm going to play guitar. I heard that there is homework for this class though...) 4. Honors Biology 9 5. Spanish 1 6. Math Analysis (I asked my counselor, it's just like Pre-Calculus). At first, it didn't seem so hard, it actually seemed kinda easy. But then I read the course outlines.. I have 5 hours a week of English homework, daily homework in Math, 5 hours a week of Biology homework, Spanish homework every day, Jazz music-reading to do, and I even read that there are worksheets to do for PE!!! Do you think this will give me some trouble? If it's of any help, I got A's in all my classes in 8th… [cont.]

A. That looks like any easy schedule to me. Some teachers say you'll have a lot of homework, but that will likely change. And an hour a day for one subject isn't that bad. Spanish 1 should be easy, I took it in middle school, so I don't remember that much about it. I'm actually really good in Spanish, so you probably need a second opinion. Math analysis (called the same thing at my school) is a little difficult, but is easier than Algebra 2 and makes some of the things you studied in Alg. 2 make more sense. PE worksheets are a joke. Jazz ensemble should be fun. Some of my friends who are in orchestra say it can be a lot of work around national competition time (staying after school to practice for 3-4 hours), but your teacher might… [cont.]

A. Okay, so for the first ones, start with the formula y - y1 = m (x - x1). This is point-slope form for a line. The y1 and x1 (the ones are usually written as subscript) represent the coordinates of the points given to you, while the x and y are the actual variables that will be in the line formula. So let's do number one 1. You are given the point (1,1), so x1 = 1 and y1 = 1 as well. You plug this into the point-slope equation, as well as the given value of m. This gives you y - 1 = 1/4 (x - 1) Note: It looks like when you did it, you missed the negative on one of these, or forgot it later on. We're halfway there; this is the equation of the line. Now we need to rearrange this to get standard form, which is the ax + by = c. (I'm not sure… [cont.]

Math homework help? [7th grade]?
Q. Okay so I need help with math homework - it isn't my strongest subject this year and it's just confusing in so many ways - I do have my parents permission to be on here [just to clarify that before I get answers talking about that]. I have this worksheet with 27 problems and I need help with these [You don't have to give me the answers maybe just explain it to me -that's all I'm asking for basically] #6. A lawn care service charges $10 plus $15 per hour to mow and fertilize lawns. Write an expression for the total cost of having your lawn mowed and fertilized. Then evaluate the expression for 4 hours. #8. f / 10 (f over 10) - 1 = 2 #12. s / 3 (s over 3) + 2 = 4 Define a variable and write an algebraic expression for each phrase: #3. [cont.]
Asked by Heyy! - Sat Nov 14 16:57:14 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. 6. For this question, you know 2 things. ONE: The lawn care service has a flat fee of $10, meaning no matter how long it takes, you have to pay at least $10. TWO: It will cost $15 for every hour. The "unknown variable" (or "x") is the number or hours because that determines the total cost for having your lawn moved and fertilized. The answer in this situation would be: 15x + 10. Since it's $15 for every hour, it can be expressed as 15x (when x represents the number of hours) and you + 10 because that is the flat fee. To evaluate it for 4 hours, you know x represents the # of hours, so just substitute it. y = 15(4) + 10. Calculate it and you have your answer. :) #8 and #12 are pretty much simple algebra questions. Basically for algebra,… [cont.]
