A. At age 17 he graduated, and, with his father's approval, renounced his citizenship in the German Kingdom of Wuerttemberg to avoid military service, to finally enroll in 1896 in the mathematics and physics program at the Polytechnic in Zurich. Marie Winteler moved to Olsberg, Switzerland for a teaching post.

A. Albert Einstein was a very intelligent man, What I admire about him is the fact that even when teachers told him his theories and math were wrong, he had the stamina and perseverance to move ahead. That I despise is his intelligence caused him to deny God and to despise the heritage of the birthright of Gods chosen people.

How do I get to Albert Einstein Jacobi from Penn Station/LIRR?
Q. I need to go to Albert Einstein Jacobi Hospital. Im coming n from Long Island. I ws thinking of taking the LIRR to Penn Station (or is Jamaica better?) then subway or bus from there. Thanks so much for the help!
Asked by lost in US - Sun Dec 9 11:42:14 2007 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Actually Albert Einstein & Jacobi are different hospitals but in the same region. You actually have two options...depending on which hospital you are going to... 1. Take the LIRR into Penn Station. Get the "2" train (not the "3") uptown. Two choices...once you get to 180th Street you can either stay on the "2" and get off Pelham Parkway or wait and take the "5" to Pelham Parkway (number 5 gets you closer but the wait could be a bit). Either or, when you are on Pelham Parkway, take the BX12 bus. That will get you to Jacobi Hospital. Now if you want to specifically go to Albert Einstein from Jacobi, get out the BX12 at Eastchester Road. You can either walk down a bit (not that far of a walk) or take the BX31 bus down to Morris Park… [cont.]

Q. Did Albert Einstein contribute more to the field of science or mathematics? If mathematics, how?
Asked by Wolfgang R - Tue Mar 11 13:44:03 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Well, once the science and the mathematics gets extraordinarily complex (as it was in Einstein's case), the science-mathematics distinction becomes much more blurry than it is elsewhere. In a number of instances - Bose-Einstein condensate and special/general relativity, for example - he theoretically predicated the science, and then coattailed with the mathematical or empirical calculations/observations that would prove the science. (He predicted that it would one day be observed that light would bend around the sun due to the sun's immense mass. Eventually, this was observed.) Hope this helps.

Is Albert Einstein REALLY the best scientist ever?
Q. When anyone is asked about the best scientist ever, it seems everyone think it has to be Albert Einstein. Some go so far as to say he's the best scientist ever, or worse, that he's the best we'll ever have. But isn't that extremely offensive to every other scientist that's ever existed and slights their works in creating the modern world? I had a similar question before, but it was poorly worded.

A. The "best" is always subjective unless there is a number or scale attached to it. There are/were many great scientists, not only Einstein, for example Bohr, Archimedes, Pythagoras, Hawking, Newton, Hess, Watson, Crick, Huygens, Mendel, Darwin, Curie, Fermi...

A. Difference between einstein & newtons gravity views albert Einstein's theory of general relativity (theory of gravity) is different from Newton's view of gravity because Einstein calculated the speed of light which is the cosmic speed limit (nothing in the universe can travel faster than it). Newtons view of gravity as a 'force' was different to Einstein's because of the speed limit the Einstein's discovered. For example as Earth orbits around the sun under the influence of gravity, Newton's theory would say that if the sun was to disappear Earth would run off its orbit instantly, this is different compared to Einstein's theory because Einstein consisted the speed of light which takes around 8 min's to get to Earth. Einstein's theory says… [cont.]

What to make of this quote from the devout Albert Einstein?
Q. I've seen a lot of claims that Einstein was a religious man, but at least in this quotation, he seems a bit dismissive of Yahweh. I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own -- a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. -Albert Einstein, physicist, Nobel laureate (1879-1955)
