From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. The arts is a broad subdivision of culture, composed of many expressive disciplines. It is a broader term than "art", which as a description of a field usually means only the visual arts (comprising fine art, decorative art, architecture, and crafts). Art is a simulation of feelings, expressions, and ideas, which is used as a tool to provoke, inspire, and create those feelings, expresions, and ideas in an audience. The arts encompasses visual arts, literature, the performing arts, including music, drama, film, dance, related media, and by some definitions, other areas such as fashion. A more complete list is given below. There are many more disciplines that are not listed above. What is listed above are the major arts. From Wikipedia under the

I'm really strong in math and sciences, and it would definitely be a lot more useful to society for me to become an engineer. However, I've just discovered a passion for digital arts, whether it's modeling something 3-D in Maya or filming, editing, and adding effects to a video. Would it be reasonable for me to double major? Would a major in engineering and a minor in digital arts be better? Would an engineering career even be helped by training in digital arts? Asked by Phoenixsoul828 - Sat Aug 23 01:55:30 2008 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments A. a lot of people go on to do different careers then what they major in so you could major in engineering and ultimately end up as digital artist but the bottom line is to major in what you want to do and what you enjoy doing regardless of the benefit to society and you can always go back to school hope this helps :) Answered by GabeLogan - Sat Aug 23 02:01:34 2008 can anyone start a martial arts system? Do you need any special qualifications?
Q. I have martial arts skills, but no qualifications. I want to start a class for women in the UK. Using my not so honourable technique.LOL:) Do I need qualifications? Asked by Shingen - Wed Mar 25 12:25:10 2009 - - 22 Answers - 3 Comments A. There are already some excellent answers to this question so I'll just ask one? If you wanted to learn to play the piano, would you go to a grade one piano player for your instruction? No? Well, why would you go to an untrained martial artist for your martial arts instruction? It is traditional, when someone sets themself up in a town as a martial arts instructor, for that person to be willing to take on the students of other similar martial arts who might challenge him to "give them a lesson". If you are willing to go through that and believe you are able to come through intact, go ahead!
