Q. This is difficult to explain... I'm looking for some way in Excel to locate and reference a cell based on the content of the cell above it. The worksheet I'm working with does not merge out of our software in straight columns. i.e. Instead of: Project Name Manager Client Contact Contract Amount It comes out as: Project Name Manager Client [client name here] Contact [contact name here] Contract Amount [contract amount here] I can't just make it follow a simple pattern because if any of the above info is missing, it just deletes the line instead of leaving it blank (so there is no "every fourth row in column D is the contact name") Is there a formula that could locate the word "Contact" and then return the value… [cont.]
