A. Single replacement. You get magnesium nitrate and tin. Synthesis - you get potassium hydroxide. singple replacement - you get cobalt acetate and lead decomp - you get aluminum, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen gas double replacement - you get copper phosphate and water.

Help on chemistry review sheet!!!?
Q. my finals are tomrrow and i still need to answer a couple of questions on review sheet please help... What is the molecular formula for... Mercuric Bicarbonate? Ammonium Bicarbonate? Aluminum Bicarbonate? Why can a lump of sugar be used in hot tea but granulated(small crystals) sugar is preferred in iced tea? Potential energy is energy that is stored for later use. Explain where the potential energy is located in an exothermic reaction? Why do foods and fuel have chemical potential energy? 1 answer helps a lot thanks in advance :)
Asked by i am what i am - Wed May 9 22:43:24 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I see the first two are answered and are definitely correct...for the last question in an exothermic reaction the reactant(s) recombine to from product(s) and energy(heat,light..) The potential energy is stored in the reactants and through the chemical reaction is released in the for of kinetic energy.

A. NaNO3 H3PO4 SnCl4 CuSO4 CaSO4 Mg3(PO4)2 NaHSO4 Cu(NO3)2 Fe2(SO3)3 CrP Sr3P2 Sr(HCO3)2 NH4Br H3P KOH Easiest way is to memorize the ions. Other than that, just write out the ions with their charges then switch the ion charges up. For example: Sodium Sulfide Na + + S 2- The two negative charge on the sulfur goes down to the sodium to get Na2. Then the one positive charge on the sodium goes down on the sulfur to get S. So the formula for sodium sulfide is Na2S. I really hoped this helped.

A. tisk tisk, having people do your homework for you? :P i have the answers to all of them, just give me a minute to type them up. 1. B 2. D 3. C 4. D 5. A 6. A 7. C 8. C 9. A 10. A 11. A 12. E 13. E 14. B 15. A 16. A 17. E or D 18. D 19. A 20. D #14. (though Germanium doesn't usually form ions. but being that it has 4 valence electrons and Oxygen has 6 valence electrons, they can be double covalently bonded to both satisfy octets. but it would only be one and one, GeO, aka answer B) #17. (answer should be 11.17 i think but that's not a choice.) #18. (couldn't figure it out but it would have to be in group 3 or 13 based on the composition of the formula unit/molecule. D is the only one aka element Y.)
