Is it illegal to photocopy the pages of a book for a school class?
Q. Our teacher photocopied the pages of a book for our class. I just wanted to know if this is legal or not. its just photocopied pages of the book stapled together. Does putting the book title on the front count as citing the source? btw, its a guy., no biggie.

The law of "fair use" defense to copyright infringement does not apply, mainly because Congress gave every school-teacher a statutory exemption for one-time copying of materials, in limited quantities, for use in the classroom, under certain other conditions. Also, a public school cannot generally be sued in U.S. Federal Court (e.g., for copyright or patent infringement), under the Eleventh Amendment.

A. If you actually need to read each page, sit down and try to get really into it. Turn of all distractions. You can let yourself take a break every 40 pages or so. If you don't need to read each page, use Google to find summaries of the main points. Reading book reviews on amazon.com and such sites is useful too.

A. Ok so the main idea is to get the variable on one side and the real number on the other side. 1.Add 9 to both sides (2p=5p+21) 2.Subtract 5p from both sides (-3p=21) 3.Divide both sides by -3 (p=-21/3) So the answer is -7. I'm in Advanced Algebra 2 so I fully know how to do this.

What would be the best software solution for a newbie trying to design top class web pages?
Q. I know a bit about HTML and have been reading on CSS and PHP. I want to design my own website, but I don't want it to look like I'm new at web design. A. First off, lose the "drag and drop" mentality if you want to create *real* webpages. Dreamweaver is fine if you use it as a text editor, and not as a WYSIWYG editor. There is no WYSIWYG editor that can compete with hand-coding. So any text editor (including Dreamweaver) is the only software you need to make stellar sites. Now if you just want to make "okay" sites then you can use the WYSIWYG features in Dreamweaver.
