Q. Main Research Question: How can Design Education enable a design thinker to operate in the contemporary world, and not so much on any particular discipline? The practical application of design. Sub Problems: 1.The human brain. How do we think? How do we learn? What exactly is education? How does information play a role in my knowledge? How do I construct a mental model? How does consilence play a role in learning? 2.Ideas. Where do they come from? Is design a matter of problem solving or is it more than this? 3.How does the environment in which we learn play a role in education? How does mental and physical space play a role in both education and everyday life? In what context do we learn, and in what context does design take place,… [cont.]

What type education you need to become a interpreter?
Q. What type education you need to become a interpreter? And What Universitys in California is there to get that education?
Asked by Marcos - Sat Feb 10 23:02:15 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I have friends who work as interpreters in Europe. They did their undergraduate degrees in the foreign language they want to work with, while taking a few Linguistics courses as their electives. Then, they did Master's degrees in Translating. This isn't my area of interest, and I don't know of any North American universities that offer graduate programs in Translating.

How can the education system in Spain be improved?
Q. I'm interested in getting an outsider's take on this question. Every time there is an OECD survey, Spain, the 7th or 8th largest economy in the world always comes really low down in the ranking. In attainment in reading, science and mathematics. We are constantly down in the 20's ranks near Greece, Portugal and Italy. Every new government seems to want to change the education policy of the previous one and in addition regional politicians openly defy national government policy if they happen to be of another political party. We have the money to have a much better education system, so why don't we?

A. Honestly? Voting another Party on the next elections. But even so I think it's not possible to improve it rapidly. In fact, Spanish politics are rubbish! (whatever Party!). I've graduated on the University recently but I don't think I'm trained at all. I think that the knowledge that the University teaches is not enough. The case of the elementary school and High School is even worse! It's sad! I'm not particularly proud of that, what a pity!

What sort of education would a forensic scientist have?

A. The school I go to just started a forensic science program, and i think evenhas the first master's program in it for the state of Indiana. I don't know much about jobs afterward, but take a look at the website, i would even email a professor; they are usually very helpful at my school. The professor's work very closely with students in research.

How does an education background check work?
Q. I am up for a position and they are in the process of running different background checks on me. The one that concerns me is the education background check. I am exactly one class shy of earning the BS degree that I claimed on my CV. I walked during graduation and everything, but I never got the *incomplete* for that class cleared up and, hence, never completely fulfilled my graduation requirements. In an education background check, do companies verify that you have the degree or just that you attended the university during the dates you claimed? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Asked by mike_h - Mon Jun 30 16:53:06 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. An education verification typically will verify the highest level of degree obtained. If you did not actually graduate, then it will be reported as such. Many colleges and universities have chosen to outsource their verifications to a third party, so the background screening company usually does not even talk to the school to find any additional information. I would suggest clearing this up. As a follow up, there are fewer companies that verify education backgrounds then criminal backgrounds.

What education must you have to work in the field of bionics?
Q. I am currently finishing high school, and I am interested in working in the field of bionics. Where could I find work, and what education and what degrees should I have? Thanks for the info. A. In the case of the apartment building I used to live in, a third grade education was sufficient for the manager.

What is your philosophy of higher education?
Q. I am trying to write a paper for one of my classes, and am having a hard time finding information on the topic. Our prof wants us to get others philosophies of higher education and evaluate them and come up with our own. However, when I search "philosophy of higher education" all I get is info on PhD programs! So, if you are a higher ed administrator or an educator, what is your philosophy of higher education, or what is your college's philosophy? A. One reason why you may not be finding anything specifically on this topic is because it is subjective and interpretive. My opinion is that higher education is fine if it has a practical application. For instance, practicing law or becoming a doctor but there are many other professions where this could hamper the individual. From a professional aspect, the worst Engineers I have ever had on my staff or worked with me are PhD's. Their minds are developed in such an analytical manner that they become dysfunctional. Also, this is compounded by people who achieve degrees all in the same field i.e. engineering. I think it is great from a science perspective but from management or operatability it is useless. I would rather see an… [cont.]

You need money though to buy stocks, sell them, and short them (for me the MOST important and MOST difficult). Don't need a certificate. Go do it on your own, business school teaches you this stuff but I saw from my dad that he learned it on his own completely. Go to investopedia.com to learn about the vocabulary. For college, they don't teach you ONLY this stuff. You have to take a lot of other courses so you can't exactly focus on just stocks. Mutual funds and bonds are involved too. What education would I need to work in the Psychological Department of a Hospital?
Q. I'm interested in going into this department. What high school and college education would I need in order to get a good well paying job in that department?
Asked by Richard S - Wed Sep 10 20:28:10 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. To get a job that pays well in the psychology department of a hospital, you would likely need an M.D. (work as a psychiatrist). You could work with patients as a master's level therapist, but they do not make much money at the job ( don't count on more than 35k-40k, and even that could be pushing it). With a bachelor's degree in psychology, you could work in the department as a psych tech, but your pay would scarcely rival that of working at your local McDonald's (sad, but true). ~M~

How does education, the gouvernement and the cultures participate in crimes. How can they use way to intervene?
Q. In the subject of criminoly, how do you think the education system the gouvt and the cultures participate to the problem? how d you think they can act to intervene in this case?

A. it isnt really the schools , it is the network in the school which is used to pass to others , schools cannot be the people to intervene on a social level , as they are the people directly associated in the middle of different people beliefs and systems of thinking. if I were to set up a system , I would set up a box's in the school all over the place for students to dob in others , other groups can direct on others , but there are more to work with. there is no easy solution to this problem , the only realistic solution is from security footage of conversations from visual forensic's
