Why are companies charging a service fee when a payment is being made on the phone thru the automatic service?
Q. I understand the service feel if a payment is made while speaking with a customer serivice rep because calls in to the company cost the company. But why when a payment is made over the phone with the automated system are fees still being charged?

A. Actually, the system is the same regardless. Even if talking to a rep on the phone, they use the same automated service to get the service fee! My wife ran into this problem with her Bank of America Collections. The reason they charge, the service they use is a third party system, and not run by their company. The third party charges the company to take your payment and run it through. Cheesy, yes, effective for the company that actually sets up automated payments, very. Just another way to make us poor americans even poorer.

A. It would be pretty impossible to sit facing the patient in bed unless you are sitting on the bed with them, which isn't allowed due to hygiene reasons. so make sure the patient is sitting as upright as possible and put a chair next to their bed facing them and sit on it to feed them but make sure you are comfortable so you don't strain yourself x

Why arn't people boycotting paying the $15 a month for wow?
Q. With 11.5 million users they are making 172 million per month. I played for 5 days on a 10 day trial version. I was actually bored after the 4th day but kept playing for the 5th. Seeing how slow the game goes I thought it was a joke that people would actually pay a monthly fee when the game takes so long to get anywhere. Are people so obsessed with the game that they can not go without playing it. I bet if people quit playing it they would lower the price.

Can self-insuring allow you to be exempt from the fee in the Senate Health Care reform bill?
Q. Some states allow an exemption from mandatory auto insurance. If you can post a bond, $50,000 I think, you are exempt from buying auto insurance. Can there be an similar provision for health insurance?

A. It would be a reasonable but I doubt many people would do it, usually the more asset people have the more insurance coverage they want to protect them. With liability insurance on a car you are still libel for damages after you insurances paid the maximum amount, so the more asset people have, the more they can lose in a law suit, but nobody bothers to sue poor people.

Q. My mom was charged a fee of $322 for court costs of an eviction that was filed by the manager of the apartment she lives in. The court date would have been on November 7, 2006, but the late payment of Octobers rent and all other fees was paid on October 25 the day after the eviction notice was filed. My brother paid the amount of $2305 which included the rent fee for the month of October $929 at which time my mom was still employed as the caretaker of the apartment and should have been prorated the rent since as the caretaker she only paid $860 a month for rent.

I'm in the process of closing one of them with a $0 balance since capitalone operator refuses to remove the charge. So my question is is there a better way at getting the credit card companies to remove this unecessary fee w/o closing the account, which I've heard causes your FICO score to go down?

A. Closing an account does not necessarily make you FICO score go down BUT if you only have a few credit cards, it would. What you can do is call Capital One and tell them you DO NOT want an annual fee. They can switch your account into one that does not have an annual fee (because they do have them) BUT the interest rate WILL be higher! But if you pay it off each month, it wouldn't matter. Any examples from your own association would be helpful! If there is no reference in their bylaws or documents as to what the late fee would be than as long as they do not charge over the legal limit, in your case 28%, than its legal.
