How does BYU Idaho compare to Cal Poly SLO? I want to transfer there for a business major?
Q. I want to know how they compare academically. Does it matter if I have a degree from cal poly over byu idaho? I will be saving money if i go to Byu idaho. Would it be smarter to pay more money for school and have a degree from cal poly or pay less for school in idaho?

A. I'm also transferring to BYU-Idaho. And I think that's the best choice you will ever make! CES schools are just awesome! If you care about standards...if you don't. It might be all about the money! Education is never too expensive.

A. As long as you qualify during your entire pregnancy. They will cover 100% They don't have partial coverage in Idaho for higher incomes. (At least they didn't when I checked a couple years ago). Good Luck!

How do I file taxes for money I made in Idaho, if I reside in California?
Q. I am completing a 3 month internship in Idaho, but will return to California upon completion. What is the best way to file taxes? Idaho's state taxes are actually higher than Cali, so I would like to avoid them. Someone else mentioned they are just having their taxes withheld by their originating state, Is this possible? Of course, I would like to have the least taxes taken out, so if there is anyway I can pay only California taxes on the money I would love to know how?

A. I'm not sure what route you'll be taking through Montana but if you're on I-90, South of Billings don't miss the Little Bighorn National Battlefield Monument at Crow Agency. In Great Falls there are several sites you don't want to miss concerning Lewis & Clark. My wife & I spent several days there, drove to all the falls and museums. In North/West Montana is Glacier National Park. This park is combined with Canada's Waterton Park to form the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park. We were there in Late April in'06 and it was cool & windy.Late October you should see snow in Northern Montana.

How can I start a business selling guns in Idaho?
Q. I want to start my own gun shop in Idaho. I would like to know what the laws are and what I need to do so that I can start selling guns. Please give me sources to applicable laws. Thank You =)
Asked by Jason - Mon May 28 13:33:30 2007 - - 0 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The first thing you need is a federal firearms license. You would have to contact the U.S. Dept. of Justice Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The easiest way to find the applicable laws would be to start with your local police dept. They are usually pretty helpful with this.

I just took a new job in Idaho but I live in Washington. Am I stuck paying Idaho state income tax now?
Q. I've heard that Idaho state income taxes will be deducted from my pay but will I get those back during tax return time?
Asked by Scooter - Sat Oct 13 00:29:30 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You will file a nonresident Idaho return (Form 43). You will be taxed on your Idaho income. Since you do not live in Idaho, only income from within Idaho will be taxed, so your interest, dividends, capital gains, rental income from property outside of Idaho, etc., will not be taxed by Idaho. You are not exempt from Idaho tax and will get a refund only if your withholding is more than the tax you owe. The tax is between 3 and 5% of your federal taxable income less your non-Idaho income.

A. Idaho has tax brackets for its state income tax. The highest tax bracket is 7.8%. See this table to see where your income falls: Boise, Meridian, and Eagle are all in Ada County, which has its property tax rates listed here: Nampa is in Canyon County. I can't seem to find Canyon County's property tax rates online. Here's a link to their County Treasurer:

Where would I find an acting agent or a teacher in Idaho?
Q. I'm a 14 year old girl, living in Idaho. I live in the Southernmost part, and I have absolutely no idea where one would go to find an acting agent or teacher. I have a good feeling I would be a very good actress, but I know I can always improve. My parents don't know anything about this yet, because I would like to find a teacher or something before I ask them about taking classes. Does anyone have any ideas?

A. Ask your parents to call the community theater in your city and ask where you can take acting lessons. Acting isn't easy.
