Knowledge is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as (i) expertise, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject, (ii) what is known in a particular field or in total; facts and information or (iii) awareness or familiarity gained by experience of a fact or situation. Philosophical debates in general start with Plato's formulation of knowledge as "justified true belief". There is however no single agreed definition of knowledge presently, nor any prospect of one, and there remain numerous competing theories. Knowledge acquisition involves complex cognitive processes: perception, learning, communication, association and reasoning. The term knowledge is also used to mean the confident understanding of a subject with the ability to use it for a specific purpose if appropriate. See Knowledge Management for additional details on that discipline. From Wikipedia under the

If not, what precisely is the relation between our knowledge and the raw material furnished by sense impressions? Asked by Third P - Mon Aug 13 10:26:10 2007 - - 11 Answers - 0 Comments A. The knowledge you have of the world creates the objects you are experiencing. The actual existence or non-existence of something "out there" in the world is not something you can determine or experience for yourself, except through the help of your knowledge. And this knowledge is not yours; it is something which you and your ancestors have accumulated over a long time. What you call the "act of knowing" is nothing other than this accumulated memory. You have personally added to and modified that knowledge, but essentially it doesn't belong to you at all. There is nothing there inside you but the totality of this knowledge you have accumulated. How can insight gained through knowledge and experience lead to a growing sense of academic, social, and personal responsibility? Asked by Brian - Wed May 20 15:35:26 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Well. I learned alot early in life by having a harsh life. Being homeless and everything. But this experience has made me a better person. Sure i can be a bit shy sometimes. But when i open up im a great person. Because i know how it feels to be treated like trash. I learned to never be like that. Due to lack of responsibility of other people i learned to deal with my stuff so things like that dont happen anymore. Q. A friend of mine and I are planning on creating a web browser that will be able to be downloaded by the masses and enjoyed just like other web browsers. I just want to feel how it is like to make a web browser. If anyone has any experience can you please tell me what knowledge/skills I would need and the software/applications I would need to create a web browser. I would appreciate if you could be descriptive and explain alot to me. Wish me luck =D Asked by SandZofPersiaj92 - Tue Oct 21 16:00:32 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. The only software you'll need is a compiler. You'd want to program it in C# or C++. You'll need a detailed knowledge of Windows programming, particularly with how to manipulate the display of windows and windows elements. You'll also need a thorough understanding of HTML, XML, CSS, ASP, PHP, the IP protocols, and all the other web protocols used to display web pages. Honestly, and don't take it as an insult, its the type of endeavor where if you have to ask this sort of question, you really aren't knowledgeable enough to do it. I've been a professional C++/C# applications developer for more than 10 years, and it would intimidate me.
