Mathcad 14
PTC Mathcad is used by top engineers to perform, document and share calculation and design work. The unique Mathcad visual format and scratchpad interface integrate standard mathematical notation, text and graphs in a single worksheet - making Mathcad ideal for knowledge capture, calculation reuse, and engineering collaboration. Benefits Easy to learn and use - no special programming skills requiredIncreases productivity, saving engineers time and reducing errorsImproves verification and validation of critical calculationsPromotes calculation best practices and reuse of calculation contentComplete documentation of calculations supports standards compliance What's the news with this release? Mathcad 14.0 is PTC's first global release of Mathcad since the acquisition in April 2006. In addition to doubling the language support, this latest release offers a number of enhancements that improve engineering calculation power and clarity. Also, Mathcad 14.0 supports the Mathcad-Pro/ENGINEER integration introduced last year. How does this release benefit the customer? The enhancements in this release help customers further improve personal and process productivity. With improved language support for engineering calculation authoring tasks, as well as within the user interface and help resources, this release greatly improves an organization's ability to operate in a global environment. The new calculation capabilities and clarity in documentation help organizations capture, share and reuse critical engineering calculation IP used throughout the product development process. The Mathcad-Pro/ENGINEER integration enables customers to predict the performance of designs, drive CAD model dimensions and parameters directly from results calculated in Mathcad, use dimensions and parameters from Pro/ENGINEER in downstream engineering calculations performed and documented in Mathcad, and instantly update CAD models and the associated Mathcad worksheet when parameters change. Jobo GPS001 photoGPS - Hot Shoe Activated GPS Datalogger
photoGPS - Hot Shoe Activated GPS Datalogger Works with any Camera with a Hotshoe Saves Location Data to Built-in Memory With Internal Rechargeable Battery Includes Geotagging Software for Mac/Win Geotagging Hardware GPS satellites have been freely accessible to the world through the public good policy of the United States Air Force and their NAVSTAR Global Position System (GPS). It is a system of satellites that broadcast a specific radio signal to connect to a receiver like this one. If three or more of the NAVSTAR satellites are in transmission range of the GPS unit through simple mathematical calculations based on the distances between each orbiting satellite and the receiver a position is determined. This in turn translates into latitude longitude and altitude co-ordinates on a GPS receiver.Geotagging has become an important part of digital photographic organization classification and notation. The process involves obtaining coordinates through GPS triangulation and embedding them in a way that allows a photographer to store the location to which the photograph was taken within the digital image file itself. In order to generate these coordinates a GPS receiver like the Jobo photoGPS is required. The Jobo photoGPS datalogger is a lightweight and compact device intended to be mounted in the hotshoe of a digital SLR and is activated by the electrical pulse that normally would trigger a shoe-mounted flash. The photoGPS has its own USB-rechargeable internal battery so it need not drain the camera's battery. As such a fully-charged photoGPS can be used for several weeks without a recharge as the device will sleep in-between exposures. The photoGPS only operates in full power mode at the time of the synchronized exposure. When the photoGPS is triggered it saves the current location data to its own internal memory. So through a multi-stage geotagging method the geospatial data is collected and embedded in an image's metadata only after the photoGPS is connected to a

Stochastic Models in Biology
By Narendra S. Goel and Nira Richter-Dyn This monograph, first published in 1974, is an attempt to demonstrate the usefulness of the theory of stochastic processes in understanding biologic phenomena at various levels of complexity from the molecular to the ecologic level. The modeling of biologic systems via stochastic processes allows the incorporation of effects of secondary factors for which a detailed knowledge is missing. In the first two chapters of the monograph, the authors present the mathematic analysis used in the later chapters. The authors attempted to make the chapters self-contained and to make the book comprehensive, bringing in results derived by different authors using a variety of techniques and notations. In later chapters, where models of various biologic phenomena are discussed, introductory reviews of those phenomena are given for readers with less biologic background. Nira Dyn is a professor of Applied Mathematics at Tel-Aviv University in Israel since 1984. Her main field of activity now is Geometric Modeling. Her previous research interests were in Approximation Theory and in Mathematical Modeling of Biological systems. She is now serving in the editorial boards of the Journal of Approximation Theory and of the journal Computer Aided Geometric Design . She wrote more than 130 papers, and participated actively in more than 80 conferences and workshops. Her education was in Applied Mathematics in Israeli institutions; B.Sc from the Technion, Haifa, in 1965, M.Sc from the Weizmann Institute, Rehovot, in 1967, Ph.D. from the Weizmann Institute, Rehovot in 1970.

What are the 5 greatest mathematical/scientific equations of all time ?
Q. Greatest can be most important, most revolutionary, most beautiful etc. If you don't know the exact equation or have trouble with mathematical notation describe it by the name of the person responsible for it ie inventor

A. 1. The Schrodinger Equation is the single most important in modern physics and chemistry: H * psi = E * psi (eigenequation) 2. Einstein's famous equation for rest energy: e = m*c^2 3. Newton's laws of motion: F = dp/dt = ma 4. Euler's equation is the most beautiful: e^(i*pi) + 1 = 0 5. The Pythagorean theorem is immensely well known: a^2 + b^c = c^2, where c is the hypotenuse of a right triangle with sides a and b.
