From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. In science, measurement is the process of obtaining the magnitude of a quantity, such as length or mass, relative to a unit of measurement, such as a meter or a kilogram. The term can also be used to refer to the result obtained after performing the process. HistoryMain article: History of measurementThe word "measurement" is derived from the Greek word "metron" which means a limited proportion. The history of measurements is a topic within the history of science and technology. StandardsLaws to regulate measurement were originally developed to prevent fraud. However, units of measurement are now generally defined on a scientific basis, and are established by international treaties. In the United States, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), a division of the United States Department of Commerce, regulates commercial measurements. In the United Kingdom, the role is performed by the National Physical Laboratory (NPL). From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License What unit of measurement do you use for slope on an acceleration graph? Q. So on an acceleration graph (Velocity vs Time), I have to find the slope. I know how to find the slop but I don't know what unit of measurement to use. I know that for a velocity graph the slope is in m/s. So I think the slop for an acceleration graph is in m/s squared. Am I correct? Please simple answers, and to the point answers. Thanks to all. Asked by Summer Z - Tue Oct 21 21:08:45 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. You're right, but remember that only the time is squared - m/(s)^2 Answered by fingmeow - Tue Oct 21 21:16:54 2008 What is the average measurement of field of view in mm of 40x total magnification? Q. I had this written down, but I had to turn that paper in for something else. Now I can't measure anything that I looked at today in my lab. Can someone please just tell me that measurement, and then I can figure the rest out with this formula I have. I want to say its .005mm, but I cant remember. Q. I recently took a skinfold measurement and was told that I have 25% body fat. I need to get it down to a 22% to pass a medical exam for my new job. I'm obvioulsy going to run and diet but which specific exercise would help the most around the love handle area? And how long do think it would take to get to a 22%? Asked by Mark F - Tue May 26 18:01:25 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. Accuracy How close the measurement is to the expected value. If a body fat measurement is accurate it will produce results which are expected based on past data, or the accepted standard. Reliability How consistent the measurements are. If a measurement is accurate 1 out of 10 times, it probably is not the best way to estimate your body fat percentage. Validity Methods which are not invasive may require just a few seconds of your time. Body fat measurements can sometimes be invasive. They may require you to wear minimal clothes, be submerged in water or be pinched by calipers. Which method of body fat measurement is right for you depends on the accuracy you desire, if you're comfortable with the method, the time you have… [cont.] Answered by preetiepink - Tue May 26 18:06:20 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "measurement" Rentrak Buying Nielsen's Box Office Measurement Service, For $15 Million
