Nigel Mansell: should have won at Monaco in 1984, Should have been champion in 1986, bad crash in 1987 and incident in Portugal in 1991. Perry Mcarthy: Only got a few attempts in the frankly awful Andrea Moda car and was probably hated by the team leader.

A. Chris Amon. Wrong place at the wrong time, poor reliability, great teammates, bad business decisions, too honest for his own good...he had the full set of bad luck stories. Jochen Rindt. Horrible reliability (what would you expect with Ron Dennis as your mechanic???), poor business decisions (again, what would you expect with Bernie Ecclestone as your agent???), having an uncooperative teammate when you finally land at Lotus and then dying in sight of the world title. Gilles Villeneuve. Never had the car to go with his talent until his final season, then killed in a stupid accident when he should have finished the year as champion. Jean Alesi. How he only ever won one race is a mystery. Having the worst Ferraris since the early 80s was… [cont.]
