A. You use other bases commonly in computer science. Studying base 2, binary, is important because it's what modern computers use. There's also base 8, octal, which is used for networking and base 16 is used as well. Interestingly, there were some early Soviet computers which used base 3, ternary, and they were able to exploit the nice properties of base 3 effectively. While those computers are not used anymore, some computer scientists such as Donald Knuth have said that ternary logic may be useful in the future. If you want to learn more, check out The Art of Computer Programming, volume 2, chapter 4 on arithmetic. There's a whole section on positional number systems at the beginning, including even a base 2i number system.

They look quite old and the wheel size might be quite small (72mm or 76mm). A reasonable adult skate typicaly will accept 80mm or larger wheels. You will also need spacers and bearings for the wheels. The spacer depends on the axle size which looks like 6mm in the picture. (there are only two sizes, 6mm and 8mm) 8mm axles are not typicaly used on cheap skates. If you have time, I would ask the vendor the following two questions. Re-employment with the same employers after redundancy?
Q. I was employed for around 3 months and due to a cost cutting exercise I was made redundant along with several hundred others back in Dec 2003 in which I was offered a rather attractive financial compromise agreement which I accepted. I recently tried to apply for a vacancy for the same company but I was informed that the company has a policy of not re-employing any candidates who have received financial re-numeration to leave the company. Can someone please advise whether I can take this further? Many thanks for the answers some of you have given. One of you even picked me up on my spelling! The point I am making is that although I understand what the Company are saying, it was over 5 years ago when I was given the remuneration package! [cont.]
