Education in its broadest sense is any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character or physical ability of an individual. In its technical sense education is the process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulated knowledge, skills and values from one generation to another. Teachers in educational institutions direct the education of students and might draw on many subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, science and history. This process is sometimes called schooling when referring to the education of youth. Teachers in specialized professions such as astrophysics, law, or zoology may teach only a certain subject, usually as professors at institutions of higher learning. There is also education in fields for those who want specific vocational skills, such as those required to be a pilot. In addition there is an array of education possible at the informal level, e.g., at museums and libraries, with the Internet, and in life experience. The right to education has been described as a basic human right: since 1952, Article 2 of the first Protocol to the European Convention on Human Rights obliges all signatory parties to guarantee the right to education. At world level, the United Nations' International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of 1966 guarantees this right under its Article 13. From Wikipedia under the

"In your opinion how would a course in education impact your impression of what to expect personally and professionally as one enter a career in education? Asked by Melvenia D - Mon Aug 25 00:44:39 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. I am a sophomore and currently taking two courses related to my major (middle grades edu) So far they have been helpful. One is about diversity in the classroom, which will be helpful because America is a melting pot and there will be kids from all types of cultures and ethnicity's in my class in the future and this is preparing me to deal with them. and the other is about teacher etiquette. Of course that will be helpful for obvious reasons, there are a million things that are inappropriate to do or say around children, somethings that you would not even think. So in conclusion these courses are great. Answered by Venus R - Mon Aug 25 00:49:57 2008 How many more years of education would I have to complete to become a psychiatrist? Q. I am currently a special education teacher. My specialization is children with behavior and emotional disoders. I have a completed my bachelors in special education and will soon complete my masters degree in special education. I want to become a psychiatrist and wanted to know would I have to go backwards and get a bachelors in medicine? How may more years would this take me to complete? Asked by tisha_48505 - Mon Jul 14 12:27:20 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. You need to go to medical school and specialize in psychiatry, which means you need to take undergraduate pre-med requirements (which will take two semesters of full time study) and then of course, the MCATS and apply to medical school. How long does med school take? Look it up! Instead, you may decide that rather than throwing pills at children, since all psychiatrists really do is dispense medications(realistically rather than ideally), you may want to become a psychotherapist or psychologist. This will require less schooling because you can apply to do a PhD in practicing clinical psychology and given your background this may only take an additional 2 years. Asked by ~Mo~lovin<3 - Tue Nov 13 21:26:12 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. The other answerers are incorrect. It's a specialty of nursing. You don't go through radiology school. "The larger medical centers may employ a radiological nurse who provides for the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the patient who is undergoing tests or treatment in a radiology department. The radiological nurse usually develops and manages a care plan to help patients understand procedures and, later, recuperate from the procedures. This may also include working with a patient's family. The nurse can perform examinations or carry out preventive health measures within the prescribed guidelines and instructions of the radiologist. In addition, the nurse can record physician findings and discuss cases with either the radiologist… [cont.] Answered by RadTech - BAS RT(R)(ARRT) - Wed Nov 14 05:31:28 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Education" Quotations about education.
