A. A) Because the field inside the conductor medium vanishes, the total charge on the interior surface is equal and opposite to that of charge inside the cavity. Thus that is .530 * 10^-6 C. The total charge on the sphere is the same as before. Thus let Qout=charge on exterior surface, then Qout+.530 * 10^-6 C= 6.37*10^-6 * 4* pi* 0.243^2 = 4.73*10^-6 C. Thus Qout=4.73*10^-6 C -.530 * 10^-6 C=4.20*10^-6 C. The charge density =4.20*10^-6 C/( 4* pi* 0.243^2)=5.66 *10^-6 C/m^2. B) The field just outside the sphere is 1/(4 pi eps0) * Qout/R^2= 9* 10^9 * 4.20*10^-6 /(.243)^2= 640,000 Volts/m. C) Flux=Interior charge /eps0 = 4 pi *9*10^9 * (-.53 *10^-6) = -15 Volts m.
