Verbwriting
From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Writing is the representation of language in a textual medium through the use of a set of signs or symbols (known as a writing system). It is distinguished from illustration, such as cave drawing and painting, and the recording of language via a non-textual medium such as magnetic tape audio. In Eurasia writing began as a consequence of the burgeoning needs of accounting. Around the 4th millennium BC, the complexity of trade and administration outgrew the power of memory, and writing became a more dependable method of recording and presenting transactions in a permanent form (Robinson, 2003, p. 36). In Mesoamerica writing may have evolved through calendrics and a political necessity for recording historical events. From Wikipedia under the

From Google News Search: "writing" What type of writing assignments can I expect in a College Composition course? Q. I really don't mind writing at all as long as the prompt is open-ended and allows me to think more abstractly. Will I be assigned essays or will I be expected to write a short story every week? Asked by No Cookies for You - Thu Aug 20 17:15:18 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. i had to write 2 personal essays, 4 research papers, a paper about assigned reading once a week, 2 personal experience/research papers. the longest one was 11 pages. also had to do some writing of the top of my head for like 5 minutes whenever the professor wanted the class to write. basically you write a little of everything so the school knows you are capable of writing. it is heavy on research papers because those will be all important in college. mostly they were between 2-6 pages plus the 11 page paper and an 8 page paper. I am writing a media essay and I need help on how I could answer this: How does story telling techniques in fiction writing make non-fiction writing more imaginative? Thanks, I will choose the best answer! Asked by Anotov - Sun Feb 15 12:50:19 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Non-fiction is limited to reality. The story telling techniques in fiction are not limited to what happened, but what the author wants to happen. A toaster can sing (personification), a man can walk 500miles in an hour (hyperbole), an annoying friend that follows you everywhere is a lost puppy (metaphor), etc. Non-fiction can be creative, memoir especially, but it is limited to the actions and thoughts of everyday life, not the possibilities. Q. I love writing but have been published once when I was in sixth grade. ( I'am now much older) I need to be able to make a little profit but I'am confused about who to write for. I 'am struggling with how to start and have overwhelmed myself with technical writing, copywriting, etc. Any help is much appreciated.
