How do I reset the airbag light on a Skoda Felice?
Q. I've just had some work done to my car and the battery was changed. The airbag wasn't touched in any way, but the dashboard airbag light stays on all the time now. I'm concerned this will be an MOT fail point, and I'd like to know how I reset it so that the car realises it can turn the little light off. After the first two daft answers below, I really would appreciate sensible suggestions. There is no call to insult anyones choice of car, we drive within our budget and I'd like to keep this one working well if at all possible

How do i get my airbag light on my 2000 chevy to turn off?
Q. I took apart the steering from the steering box while changing the Pittman arm and accidentally the steering wheel got turned unfortunately. Now my airbag light is on and i don't know how to turn it off. Do i have to take the steering wheel off to reconnect something, is there a way to reset the light, or do i have to take it to a mechanic who specializes with airbags. .

A. You accidentally broke the clockspring and it will need to be replaced. The clockspring is a ribbon wire that is coiled up inside the steering column. This component is the subject of many discussions on these threads. Many times the steering wheel or column is disconnected and then rotated beyond the center position it is required to be in. This will cause the clockspring wire to break. The clockspring delivers current to all of the systems above it the airbag, cruise control and horn. When it fails (and they do a lot) the wire breaks leaving one or all of the circuits open and inoperative. This will cause the airbag light to come on and shut down the airbag system. I had a body shop put a t-shirt in the airbag space and s-glue it shut. I found out by taking it to the dealer and they ran a diagnotic test which told them there was no airbag there. You want the system to work, and if you sell the car, even "as is", you will be liable for injuries if the air bag system does not work and you took the bulb out. Be smart, be safe.

You did not state the make of car, but most GM cars have the air bag control module located under the passenger seat carpet, If connections get wet they can cause corrosion or worse the module is bad... much like putting your computer in water. I later had to take the stereo back out (a very simple procedure) to install and iPOD adapter. When I put it back in , the airbag light flashing continuously. What's going on?

I think of changing . airbag. and module because I can`t start car signing . light. reads SRS . airbag. faulty when I turn on to start engine pops up . airbag. faulty. DONT even try to fix it yourself your better off having a mechanic do it trust ...
