Allah (Arabic: الله‎, Allāh, IPA: [ʔalˤːɑːh] ( listen)) is the standard Arabic word for God. While the term is best known in the West for its use by Muslims as a reference to God, it is used by Arabic-speakers of all Abrahamic faiths, including Christians and Jews, in reference to "God". The term was also used by pagan Meccans as a reference to the creator-god, possibly the supreme deity in pre-Islamic Arabia.

The concepts associated with the term Allah (as a deity) differ among the traditions. In pre-Islamic Arabia amongst pagan Arabs, Allah was not considered the sole divinity, having associates and companions, sons and daughters - a concept which Islam thoroughly and resolutely abrogated. In Islam, the name Allah is the supreme and all-comprehensive divine name. All other divine names are believed to refer back to Allah. Allah is unique, the only Deity, creator of the universe and omnipotent. Arab Christians today use terms such as Allāh al-ʼAb ( الله الأب, "God the Father") to distinguish their usage from Muslim usage. There are both similarities and differences between the concept of God as portrayed in the Qur'an and the Hebrew Bible.

Unicode has a codepoint reserved for Allāh, = U+FDF2. Many Arabic type fonts feature special ligatures for Allah.

How do followers of Islam show thier love and obedience for Allah ?
Q. I'm doing a research paper for a communications class and we are supposed to do research on communication in various cultures. I chose to do research on how the followers of Islam communicate to Allah their obedience and love. I figured I would talk about rituals and the various ways they act to show their love and obedience. Any suggestions on what that might be ? Links to sites would be preferable, thanks :)

Why is it that you pay more attention to humans and no attention to Allah?
Q. We have tested you manytimes and you all have failed, you return to pointing and we pull you along everytime. When do you think you people are going to learn never to trust a human being on the face of this earth today? What did Allah SWT tell you about this? Admire me I will make sure to admonish you!

If I yield to Allah SWT and not any humans, would then anything humans say or do ever effect me?
Q. Wouldn't it be those things that Allah SWT does to me, be more important than what any human can say or do? How is this important in understanding what Submission means? If you are in submission then does it really matter what anyone ever says again?

A. None can prevent what Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala bestoweth, and no one can bestow that which Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala preventeth!

Allah (Arabic: الله‎, Allāh, IPA: [ʔalˤːɑːh]) is the standard Arabic word for "God", used by Arabic-speakers of all Abrahamic faiths, including Christians and Jews, as well as Muslims. The term is most likely derived from a contraction of the Arabic article al- and ʾilāh "deity, god" to al-lāh meaning "the [sole] deity, God" (ho theos monos); another theory traces the etymology of the word to the Aramaic Alāhā. The term was also used by polytheistic Meccans as a reference to the creator-god, possibly the supreme deity in pre-Islamic Arabia.
