What formula would I use to figure out my expected commission?
Q. So I have been trying to figure out this formula, with no success. I have spent $3.81 on advertising a certain product, and have been paid a commission of $22. So, what I need to figure out is this: What will my commission be per $100 I spend on advertising? I just need a formula to plug into Excel, because I have several different scenarios I need to know this for. Any formula suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Asked by Fred L - Tue Oct 9 14:09:25 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. First find the commission per dollar =22/3.81 then multiply the answer by 100. Eg. A1 = 3.81 B1 = 22 A2 = 100 therefore B2 = (B1/A1)*A2

What is the molecular formula of this compound?
Q. If the molar mass of the compound is 186.5 grams and the empirical formula is C2H7, what is it's molecular formula?
Asked by RazmatazOopedkLlllp - Thu Nov 5 21:04:14 2009 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments

A. C2H7 = 24 +7 = 31 186.5/31 = 6 Thus, the molecular formula is C12H42 That's not possible, so something is wrong with this problem.

When writing the formula for compounds, how do you know when to use parentheses?
Q. One thing I do not understand in chemistry is when a question asks 'write the formulas for the following ionic compounds', how do you know when your answer needs parentheses? For example, one question asked the formula for copper(II) nitrate, the answer is Cu(NO3)2. But in a question asking for the formula for sodium hydroxide, the answer is NaOH (with no parenthesis). So how do you know when you are supposed to use parentheses?
Asked by xlogical.harm - Thu Oct 16 16:20:34 2008 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments

A. You use parentheses when the formula contains more than one of the same polyatomic ion. in the example you gave, nitrate is a polyatomic ion of NO3 with a charge of negative 1. copper (II) has a charge of positive two. So to balance it out, you need two nitrates. you cannot write NO32 because then it looks like there is 32 oxygen. when you write it as (NO3)2, you have two polyatomic ions.

Is switching from good start formula to similac formula a good idea?
Q. I have a 5 month old baby. I still breastfeed at night but I started supplementing good start formula at 2 1/2 months because of work. I have talked to my doctor multiple times about his spitting up,gassyness, and fussiness. He told me to keep using the formula because his stomach is still getting used to it. So I changed to similac formula early sheild. Was that the right thing to do?
Asked by Deserea - Tue Sep 22 10:09:10 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. heads up you are the mom if you think that the good start is not working for your child then you have all rights to change it. 2.5 months is a long time if your child still is not adjusting good then I would change it. It took me 2 formulas with my first child and started my 2nd child on the same as the first then came #3 and it took 4 different kinds ended up with allementum and with my daughter i used carnation good start. Don't ever double question your ability as a mother to know when your child needs something different to work with!

What is the formula of finding the shortest formula leading to a huge number?
Q. For example, what is formula that leads precisely to number 9342352, and what is the formula on which you have found it? Formula122 Exactly, by formula I mean what MathMan TG has already answered (thanks!). But, I need to find the shortest formula. Look, the first formula you have put, in fact can be shortened to 25456 * 367. More precisely i look for something like: x at y power * z or + z If my number 9342352 has 7 characters in total, I need a formula that in total will have less characters. Is that possible?
Asked by solicromania - Sat Feb 7 16:11:18 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. What do you mean by formula ? You can factor the number: 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 37 *43 * 367 by various methods, the most basic of which is dividing by successive primes. Or 2 * 3 * 3 * 3 * 173 * 1000 + 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 11 which can be shortened to 54 * 173000 + 32 * 11 Along with unlimited other possibilities.

What is the difference between toddler formula and baby formula?
Q. I have switched my 4 month old Baby Boy to Baby's Only Dairy Toddler Formula because it seems to be the most organic formula out there, and because I have compared it's ingredients to other infant formulas and it seems to be equal. Does anyone know any medical facts or information about this?
Asked by Kurt's Mama - Wed May 20 01:21:35 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. No, I think they are quite similar. Baby's Only is an "organic" formula, which mostly markets itself as "toddler" because the company does in fact believe, as do medical experts, that breast milk is far and away the most healthy thing to feed an infant. Infants should be getting breast milk, not formula. At least, that is what I have heard about the company. Otherwise, I would just wonder if it contains DHA/ARA and iron supplementation. There are no other differences.

How much formula should a 5month old baby take in?
Q. I want to know how much formula she should drink not in awhole day but at one time. Right now we have her on 4oz. But she seems to want more so I incresed it to 5oz or 6oz sometimes. & she usually feeds every 3 hours but she seems to want it more often like every 2hours. I don't want to overfed her but I don't want her to be hungry either. So im just wondering whats the Average amount of formula 5 month old babies are taking in. Thanks in advance.!
Asked by **MS. G** baby due 05/09/10 - Mon Mar 9 22:45:14 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Feed her on demand. If she sometimes needs 5 oz. every two hours, fine. If she can drink 6 oz. every 3 hours, fine. There is no set amount that she should be taking in at each feed. However, at 5 months, the TOTAL amount/day ranges from 24-32 oz. Your baby, though, may be taking in a little more or less than that.

What is the difference between a molecular formula and an empirical formula?
Q. What is the difference between a molecular formula and an empirical formula? What is the molecular formula of the molecule that has an empirical formula of CH2O and a molar mass of 120.12 g/mol? Please help me!
Asked by Master Lee - Thu Feb 5 21:19:54 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. A molecular formula tells you the ratios of each different element in a molecule. An empirical formula tells you just the lowest ratio of the different elements in each molecule. Each has a specific weight associated with it, and the molecular weight will always be a whole number multiple of the empirical weight. In this case, the empirical formula CH2O has an associated empirical weight of 12 + 2 + 16 = 30 g/equivalent. The molecular weight is (almost) exactly 4 times the empirical weight, meaning that the molecular formula is exactly four times the empirical formula: C4H8O4.

Best formula to use when switching from breastmilk?
Q. I need to ween my 5 month old from breastmilk to formula. I know breast is best, but I need to do this. I have tried Enfamil but he hates the taste. Are there any formulas out there that taste better? Which is the best to use when baby is used to breastmilk? Thanks for and suggestions!
Asked by Moonlight177 - Sun Jun 1 17:46:46 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Most pediatricians will tell you that the best formula "is the one you get for free." That is, because formula is so regulated, most formulas have the almost identical ingredients (especially Enfamil and Similac - the back of the cans are near identical). I primarily breastfeed, but my pediatrician had us supplement my daughter early on because she was not gaining weight during the first month (when she was exclusively breastfed). I ended up going with Similac Advance and she had no problem taking it. Even though we primarily breastfeed now, I give her Similac Advance if needed. I also like Similac because you can get it anywhere and they also have the small to-go packs, which makes it easy to carry in your diaper bag in case you need it… [cont.]

What is a formula to explain why increasing CO2 in water leads to a lower pH?
Q. I understand that carbon dioxide is soluble in water, but how does that lead to a lower pH, and how would I write a formula to show that? Also: What is a formula I can use to explain how a lower pH would affect the CO3 in the ocean? Why? How would a change in the CO3 affect the calcification rate in a coral reef?
Asked by Generally Confused - Sun Aug 24 14:06:48 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. CO2 conbine with water to form carbonic acid H2CO3 Low pH will cause a reaction with CO32- which is bacis and eventually reduce the amount of CO32- available for calcification

Asked by hiwayland - Sun Oct 12 16:00:34 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. One hit gets you high, but gravity gets you low. Calculate the time it takes for the speed to reach zero. You get that by dividing the speed and the gravity. Then you multiply that time by the speed at which you're getting higher, and do the difference with half of the gravity time square. And that's how calculate how high you get.
