A. Your information is very sketchy. There are hundreds of Mauser's manufactured in dozens of calibers. It would help to know what caliber it is chambered for. And there are usually more writing on the rifle than on the top of the chamber. My guess would be the following: Fabrica de Armas in Oviedo, Spain. In 7x57mm caliber. A model 1916 Short Rifle which is a shortened version of the Model 1893 rifle. It should have a 21.75" bbl. The rear sight is graduated to 2,000 meters. Almost a full stock with a upper hand guard. Sight protectors on the front sight.Weight about 8 lbs. Spanish Crest on receiver ring. VG condition $300 Good Condition $275 Fair Condition $175 If the spanish crest has been removed deduct 50% on the values

Should Jim Tracy give Shawn Chacon the fifth starting pitcher job and take Armas out of the rotation?
Q. Tony Armas Shawn Chacon Jim Tracy Pittsburgh Pirates
Asked by ungluck - Thu May 17 21:57:47 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Armas has had plenty of chances to show he is a quality starting pitcher. He has failed. On the other hand, Chacon has pitched brilliantly and after today's performance, deserves the chance to start for the Bucs. Armas has not lasted more than 5 innings all season, where Chacon pitched 2-hit ball over 5 innings today and threw less pitches in 5 innings than Armas did in 3 innings. It worked out well today, but I think the two need to switch rolls and see what happens.

why USA supported Carlos Castillo Armas , a fascist , a dictator in Guatemala(1950)?
Q. you are right !!!Carlos Castillo Armas was not fascist , he was a saint because USA support him.
Asked by Endovelicus - Fri Oct 2 10:48:28 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. At that time, the Soviet Union was actively trying to gain a foothold in Latin America. Had they managed to do so it could have resulted in hundreds of thousands of hostile troops just a few day's march from the U.S. Border. Judged in a vacuum or with the luxury of hind-sight, U.S. support of Latin American dictators can certainly seem like a bad choice. You cannot deny the context of the times, however, when making final judgement.

how do i tell the difference in models in all the mauser actions?
Q. i've got a chance to buy an 8mm mauser but the only info on it says fabrique de armas. under that it says 1953. any help would be greatly appreciated!!! thanx

A. Whole books are written on the subject. The answer is a lot bigger than what will fit here. It's probably Spanish, a variation on the model 98 action. They're good rifles. If it looks like it's in decent shape and the price is reasonable, buy it.

who is going to sign barry zito?
Q. Im a mets fan, but it seems as though zito and mulder are both gonna sign with texas. If so, who else is out there for the mets to sign. We need one more proven pitcher to complete the rotation for the first half of the season before pedro martinez returns. The only possible suitors i see out there are suppan, weaver, and armas. Any ideas? Maybe even some trade scenarios. Dontrelle Willis seems like the only big name out there, but i dont think the marlins are gonna budge. Thanks for the answers people.

A. Shirley is correct as usual but what I think you really want to learn is more about your birth parent(s) an by doing so you will also learn more about the history of your particular branch of the De Armas name and the heritage that goes with that name. However, don't forget that parents are really the ones who dried you tears, tucked you in at night and were always there for you when you are seeking your biological parent(s). These are just a few of the many useful links that are helpful for adoptees in trying to locate their birth parent(s). They are in no particular order.

What does asseguran mean?
Q. I've found this word in Portuguese, French, and Spanish. The specific phrase I'm trying to understand is: No opuseron (los inquisitores) a los herejes otras armas que la oracion, la paciencia, y la instruction; entro ellos, S. Domingo, come lo asseguran los Bolandos, y los padres Echard y Touron. (Vie de Saint Dominique, pag. 20)

A. Here is the whole translation: The inquisitors did not impose on the heathen other weapons than prayer, patience and instruction; among themselves, S. Domingo, as The Bolandos and fathers Echard and Touron assure. (So the word means "assure, reassure, ratify, "make sure")

In Spanish to English I wonder about this phrasing-18?
Q. This is the exact paragraph as it appears in the book-but I wonder if "parque" is a typo. Thinking that the islands were empty, chances being that the settlers had fled from the Caste War, the old imperial power argued to snatch these islands, which some local politicians had already tried to change using arms and park? (parque?), but there was not a long enough space of time for them to forget. Isn't "arms and munitions"… [cont.]

A. Thinking that the islands were empty and the chance that the settlers had fled from the Caste War, brings to bear the argument of the old imperial power to commandeer these islands, which some local politicians had already tried to change using arms and munitions, but time didn't leave enough room for them to forget. The translation is basically alright, it just needs a little fine tuning.

A. A man without hair under his arms and on his legs is gross. Please keep it. Shaving is way too effeminate, especially on legs. Maybe trim your under arms if you feel the need. As for the chest hair, that varies from girl to girl. Personally, I like it. But others don't.

Q. I noticed the other day on my husband's lower armas that he had some small bumps in his veins i try to look it up on the web but had no luck does anyone know if this is symptom of something.

A. There are valves inside all of our veins which assist the circulation of blood from the veins back to the heart so the blood can be re-oxygenated. Men's veins tend to be more pronounced and larger so it is more likely these valves will be noticable in men. If these bumps are not painful, and he has no other medical conditions that could effect his circulatory system, that would probably be what it is.

Can you believe in God and still believe that abortion is okay? This question is not meant to initiate a huge
Q. argument here between the pro-life and pro-choice camps but is really meant to understand the thinking process of those who do not find abortion, especially late-term, to be akin to taking a life. It seems to me, especially in today's technologically advanced world where we can see the form and development of a baby in the womb from very early on (see the operation and picture of Samuel Armas and his mother) that the old thinking about there not really being a "baby" aborted is a pretty weak stance now. The issue of viability seems to be specious at best in today's world and the further issue of women's rights surely must be secondary to a life isn't it? I didn't mean to be so overt in the phrasing of my question, it is obvious on which… [cont.]

A. you can very well believe in God yet still think abortion is okay, but it is wrong. to those who think abortion is fine, that its not murder, just go do a google search of websites that show you photographs of aborted children. you will see they have arms and legs and hearts and brains... some even have full bodies, they just look... well... dead. infact, here are some sites to copy and paste: if you dont want to see VERY graphic pics, dont go there. if you want to know the truth, have a look. but every one of them is human when aborted. so, abortion is literally murder. If your "mature" enough to have sex, your "mature" enough to take responsibility for your actions. and if you were raped, there is adoption. no excuses.
