Why do my Army correspondence courses say exempt when complete?
Q. I have been taking Correspondence Courses online and about one out of every four of them say "exempt" instead of "complete" after I finish them, can any one help me with this?
Asked by Kevin B - Mon Oct 5 19:55:19 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. it means you have already done it. i am guessing you see it when you look at the subcourses when they are a part of a course. don't worry about it, it counts towards the course, just no additional credit hours (because you already have those) good job on furthering your military education!

Q. I've done a bunch of Army Correspondence Courses that I don't meet the eligibility for without realizing til' now that I wasn't eligible for that... Will they still count for my promotion points??!?!!!
Asked by Randy A - Sat Jun 14 22:59:09 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. yes. i've done correspondence for NBC for Military Justice, for Medical and everything inbetween and it counted towards my promotion. So yes dont worry about it. Just be SURE they have it put on your 3355 before you send it up cause its a pain in the ASS to do it later even if it is now automated online at the hrc website.

Q. If im in the National Guard do I qualify to take correspondent courses if Im on non-active duty status? And if I get activated can I take them? And does my rank factor into this?? Thanks

A. Not only are you allowed to take them, your chain of command should be encouraging you to take them. You can access information on AKO under the "My Education" tab. Talk to your supervisor about what courses might be good for your professional development.

what army correspondence courses count for college credit ?
Q. what army correspondence courses count for college credit ?
Asked by LONE STAR LEGEND - Sun Nov 2 00:24:43 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Technically, none. But that will depend on what can be loaded into the AARTS. Call them and ask, I know when I checked mine I saw a few that I took and that was loaded onto my military transcripts but Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Unversity which is the school I am currently attending only gave me 15 credits, just general elective credits, nothing specific so it will have to depend on the school. Here is the site, ask the questions...give them a call. Find a good school as well that will give you the credits, there are a few out there like Moutain State University...not my style but if you are looking for free credits they are the ones to go to. Hope I could help. https://aartstranscript.a rmy.mil/

About Army correspondence courses? college courses?
Q. I just started doing correspondence courses 2 weeks ago. Do you get certificates whenever you finish a course? If so, where could I find them? Does it go automatically into your record? Another question, I've got some college from another country and I'm going to get it credited by some institution that does it. How do I get it into my record?
Asked by mikcute - Tue Feb 17 14:33:55 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You can take the completion over to the education office and they will add it to your record. But always look first to see that the class is accredited and will transfer. Many many people spend time and money on useless courses. Go to or call the education office and ask to speak to an advisor. An appt with them. Then you can sit down and plan your course of study. They can also help you with how to transfer credits.

Ordered to complete Army correspondence courses?
Q. My first-line supervisor has told me that he will recommend me for NJP if I don't complete 50 hours of correspondence courses under the ACCP. I have already completed 388 hours. He puts it in my counseling every month, and says that if I don't do it, he'll recommend me for an Article 15 for violating Article 92 (Failure to obey an order or regulation)... can he actually do that, and would it stick? I know it's important to have them in order to get promoted and it's good for professional development, but you can't order someone to develop professionally, can you? It just seems a little over the top to me.
Asked by Stephen13MP - Sun May 24 05:57:04 2009 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. That's totally bogus, it would never stick, as you say. Sure he could be an ass and actually recommend you for article 15, but your commander is just as big of a tool, he'd never sign off on that. A good platoon sergeant would be trying to encourage you to take correspondence courses, since they help your career... but threatening Article 15 if you don't do enough, that's not good motivation for personal development. I wouldn't worry much about him actually carrying through on his threat of punishment, he'd be wrong to try it... and if he does try it, you have other people in your chain of command you can talk to, to have that problem taken care of.
