How hard is the ateneo college entrance test for transfer students? and how many students can be accepted?
Q. I've taken the acet last year(sept 15 2007) for school year 2008-2009 but unfortunately, i failed to pass the said exam so i enrolled in my 2nd choice school but i'm planning to take acet for transfer students next year(for school year 2009-2010) and if i pass i will transfer in ateneo

A. the exam for transfer students is also hard. unfortunately, ateneo is only accepting limited number of students (i dont know how many but i saw this on their website) which makes it a lot more harder. ateneo prioritizes freshmen applicants so i think that's the reason for limiting the number of students to be accpeted. ^_^ anyway, good luck on your upcoming test

A. Just do your best. Knowing you did your best is all that matters. If studying by yourself is not working, perhaps study with a group or a tutor. Always write down what you have learnt, this way you come to know how much you have really learn, all the best. You can always retest, and as the above poster said, you should study harder. Bear in mind that whatever score you get, better or worse, will be used from that point on...

How about the ACET? When will be the time that i should submit the registered form? Do you think i will past this test? I have been studied here in the Philippines for only one year. My english is still suck T^T ... but my math is quite good!!! By the way, i'm a foreigner student. Please help me out with this! Any of your suggestion would be fine...Thanks!! ^o^

A. Usually their entrance exams take place months before summer time. I'm not so sure if they're still offering the entrance exam by now (you might want to call them for this thing). And yes, Ateneo de Manila has the hardest entrance exam in the entire Philippines (at least that's what they told me :P) but with a lot of studying and hard work, you can do it! Most of their questions are essays... so you might want to improve your english? Oh, and Ateneo is the best place to study law and it's facilities is very, very good! :)

A. Oh it's you again =), for the ACET/DLSUCET, just refer to my previous answer and the link I gave for more detailed descriptions and tips. So here I'll probably write about the UPCAT and some general tips for all college entrance exams in general. The UPCAT is quite similar with the ACET and DLSUCET. Unlike the ACET, it has a Science portion. Unlike both the ACET and DLSUCET, it does not require you to write an essay (unless of course they suddenly add one this year; last year there was none). The UPCAT is also right minus wrong, so its ok if you don't finish (it's actually better, unless you're sure you know the answer to all questions). For ACET/DLSUCET, guess if you don't know the answer. So basically here are the UPCAT parts. I.… [cont.]

A. I think they would all send verification letters or something whether or not you get in. I don't know about the UP results because it's not out yet. We called the office and they said the results would be out next week but a lot of my classmates told me that it won't be out until late February, so I don't really know. For Ateneo naman, you don't need your case number, they're just going to ask for your full name including middle name. Check Ateneo results here: As for DLSU, you need your reference number to check the result online, I'm not sure if you would need your reference number if you call their office. Some of my friends also lost their test permit and they tried calling the office but they got the machine so I don't really… [cont.]

Which is a better pre-med course? BS Health Sciences$ of Ateneo de Manila University or BS Medical Technology?
Q. I passed the entrance exam of the University of Sto, Tomas with the course of BS Medical Technology while in Ateneo de Manila University, I passed the course BS Management. If ever I enter ADMU, I plan to shift to BS Health Sciences (a course designed as a prep course in medicine) in the middle of my first year in college or second year college perhaps. I know that it would be difficult to shift because that is an honors program which means only 10% of the ateneo college entrance test was able to enter that program plus I need to make up for my other units. Can you please proofread, check and give suggestions on my essay?
Q. Ateneo College Entrance Test Essay Are there any significant experiences you have had, or accomplishments you have realized, that have helped define you as a person? Being asked to choose the defining moments of one s life is tough. How does one choose among the many moments that occur in a day, the numerous moments in a month and the countless moments in a year. The process of scouring my mind brought up many memories: some personal, some shared. I was able to trim down the moments to the two which I believe has made me the person I am today. The first I chose because it was the most vivid, it was the first time I commuted alone. It was significant because it was my first taste of a new kind of freedom; it was the freedom of mobility,… [cont.]

A. Firstly, the spell checker throws up "practiCe" and suggests "practiSe". If you follow British English, YOU are right; otherwise, rely upon your local knowledge. Similarly, I've messed with a couple of idioms based on my British English - obviously your ear will tell you whether to ignore me. I've marked the amendments with * for ease of finding. I believe that you can't have too many commas; you may have a different belief system. I've worked in "the public service" and have no business sense, so I have no business commenting on your work, but I never let a thing like that stop me. I found it interesting, coherent and pleasant to read. I trust you will be successful in your studies, and enjoy them. Being asked to choose the defining… [cont.]

A. Okay, First: In college, people who exert effort have higher chances of surviving than those who are naturally gifted but lazy. So you still have hope. College is a lot of responsibility. If you can handle responsibilities, then you will do good in college. It is not like high school where you can play around until graduation and still have high grades. In college, you do almost all the work. There is very little spoonfeeding. However, this might mean more consultation with your professors or just plain work. Second: Studying abroad is very costly especially college. But the pay-off is great. The quality of education there in the high school is better. In college, it depends on the school. Since you are in your second year, I think it is… [cont.]

Asked by Nixon - Thu Oct 29 05:26:49 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Ask the Admissions Office of both schools. Kung walang announced extension, chances for reconsideration will be practically nil, because the application period was long and forgiving. Everything was announced on their respective websites well before the start of the application period. Furthermore, most private high schools announce application periods, requirements and procedures, and even get forms from the top colleges in your behalf. Check the application period of other schools as well, and do it asap. You don't want to miss all the boats entirely. There are so very many HS seniors who apply within the specified period, and only a certain percentage who will pass, simply because there is a limit to freshman population that… [cont.]

A. You can always try. Don't let what you've read deter you from applying. An 83 average isn't bad...It's not the best, but not bad either. The worst case scenario is you may have to attend a local community college for a semester and get A's to prove to them your serious about education. That will weigh more than h.s. Good Luck.

A. A LOT on English, Math and Grammar. I think English was 100 items, and Math was sooo hard! You also have to prepare for an essay that will be given on the last part of the test. I'm not really sure, but as far as I can remember, Science was not included in the test. Grabe! nag-review pa ko! haha... Just be prepared...lalo na yung Math, pamatay!
