I'm not sure if all three Serous cells, Mucous cells, and Myoepithelial cells fall into the category of Main Salivary Gland Cells. Please Explain and if possible list the source. Q. In many plants the total underground biomass is greater than the mass of the leaves. Many cells in the root are alive and require energy. However, being located underground they do cannot undergo the light reactions of photosynthesis. ATP is not transported between cells. Photosynthesis in the leaves results in sucrose being transported around the plant in the phloem to those parts of the plant which require energy. Once in the roots,ror example, the sucrose will be enzymically broken down to fructose and glucose which will enter glycolysis and proceed to the Krebs Cycle and result in the production of ATP in the mitochondria in the normal aerobic way.
