How do I change the gearing on a BMX bike after I change the sprocket?
Q. I have many questions. I want to change my sprocket from whatever it is to a 28t sprocket. I need to know about how to change the gearing so it is normal and not too low. Also, I'm guessing that I have 14mm dropouts so do I need to change the hub? Also, does it make a difference whether I use a cassette or freecoaster hub? Thanks a lot if you answer!

How do you typically react to change, at home and at work?
Q. Regarding 'Change', which of the following is more 'you'? (you can choose more than one, or make up one of your own) 1. I usually go with the flow just to avoid conflict. 2. I resist change at all costs! 3. I take each scenario at face value, and react accordingly. 4. I'm usually the one making the change. 5. No one ever informs me of any changes. 6. Changes? What changes?

How do I permanently change the paragraph settings in Word 2007?
Q. I opened up the paragraph settings, changed them to what I wanted, clicked on the default button. It asked if I wanted this permanently changed to the Normal setting and I clicked yes. I closed Word down and reopened it and it went back to the previous settings, not changing it to the way I would like. Is it really possible to change this and if you know how, please let me know. Thanks.

A. Did you look at the same paragraph you changed in the first place? I'm not sure making the changed style the Default changes all instances of it on existing documents. It may only affect new paragraphs or documents, and, of course, the paragraph that was changed. Hope that helps.

Is it possible to change the final velocity of a ball rolling down a ramp without changing starting height?
Q. In other words, is it possible to change the final velocity of a ball rolling down a ramp by changing the angle or slope of the ramp but not the height of the ramp? Assume for the purposes of this question that the ramp need not be straight, and you can change the slope of the ramp as much as you want. Please explain why or why not, if you can. Thanks.
Asked by Mick - Sun Feb 1 16:15:56 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Considering that we are working with a frictionless surface: Potential energy (top) = Kinetic Energy (bottom) by the law of conservation of energy. Therefore, if the height is constant, the slope of the ramp will not matter because the ball will always have the SAME kinetic energy when it gets to the ground. Equal kinetic energies = equal final velocities.

How to change font color without changing underline color?
Q. Does anyone know if this is possible in Word? When I select a word in a title I want to color, it also changes the underline to the same color. Anyway to JUST change one or the other?
Asked by Larry . - Tue Jun 30 15:20:00 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Yes you can. What you do is to highlight the title you would like to change. Next you right click and hit font. Around the middle there will be a a few boxes called font color, underline style, and then underline color. If the underline color is set to automatic then it will be the same color as the font. if you change it to another color it will stay.

How to change a job after finding out the one you work for is not operating legally?
Q. I recently changed jobs and even changed states. I did due diligence into looking into the company but recently found out that an owner, that is not listed as an owner has been involved in numerous illegal activities with other companies. After finding out about this, I dug deeper and found out that some of the activities we are currently involved with are illegal and the owner is not allowed to work in this type of business again. How do I put my resume out, after only being employed by this company for several months? I do not want to go into an interview and bash this company but do not know what to say when asked why I want to change jobs, can anyone give me any suggestions?
Asked by Dirk - Thu Oct 11 20:42:16 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You need to report the place to law enforcement, to avoid you being at risk as an accessory to the crimes. You might say in a future interview that you have a high standard of ethics, and there's things going on at that company that make you very uncomfortable.

How often should you change your violin strings and replace your bow hair?
Q. I don't really remember but it's probably been at least a few years since I first got my full size violin and I've never changed the strings but I have gotten a new bow. I think my orchestra teacher told me to change my strings but they seem perfectly fine to me. What are some definite signs that show I need to change my strings or replace my bow hair? Or how often should I change both?
Asked by Fortune - Wed Dec 12 20:22:43 2007 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments
A. Your director may be hearing that your sound seems weak or out of tune. Weak strings will lose tuning very quickly because the metal is stretched so thin after so much use. Eventually, they will wear so thin that they will break. Check your tuning every ten minutes or so while playing...you may hear what I'm talking about. As for bow replacement, I don't know enough to give you good advice other than discussing it with your orchestra director. I do know that bows can be bogged down with rosin and have enough hairs that break, making it difficult to produce a good tone quality. Just talk to your orchestra director!

How do you change the text of a JButton when a mouse click happens?
Q. How would i change the text of a jbutton from "hi" to "bye" when another JButton is clicked. The button that is being clicked already has the ActionListener attached to it and the button that is being changed is not spoused to do anything except change from hi to bye when the other button is clicked. Thanks!
Asked by James L - Fri Mar 20 20:30:07 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You are pretty close. You already have the ActionListener set up so you are most of the way there. final JButton button1 = new JButton("Hi!"); final JButton button2 = new JButton("Click me!"); button2.addActionListener (new ActionListener() { public void actionPerformed(ActionEve nt e) { if (button1.getText().equals ("Hi!") { button1.setText("Bye!"); } else { button1.setText("Hi!"); } }); The trick here is that button1 has to be declared *FINAL* in order for the anonymous inner class to see it.

What is the change that democratic candidates are constantly campaiging?
Q. I see all the liberal candiates talking about change. They all pound that message over and over. Aside from socialism, bigger government and more regulations, what change is this they are screaming for? What change could a democrat offer?
Asked by F off - Sat Jan 19 20:11:31 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You know, I've been wondering about this myself. I think the biggest change would be democrats in the White House instead of Republicans. Historically, Democrats have funded domestic programs more so than international or defense type programs. I think one change that would happen quickly would be to end the current increase in the number of active duty Army personnel and Marine Corps. There would probably be big budget cuts to defense and intelligence programs. Increases to Human Services programs (i.e. welfare, healthcare), Agriculture, and Education.

How do I change a light bulb with a 20 foot ceiling and where the bulb screws down into the socket?
Q. I am trying to change several light bulbs that are on a fixture that is hanging in my foyer. The problem is that it is a 20 foot ceiling, and the bulbs are oriented so that they screw down into the fixture. All of the extension light bulb changers that I have found are set up to change a bulb that is changed from the bottom, not the top. Any suggestions? Thanks!

A. When changing them out make sure you change them ALL out with new bulbs. Make it a one time deal. Many carpenters/ electricians have tall ladders may have to bite the bullet and hire someone.

How do I change my computer resolution if the screen keeps moving?
Q. My computer resolution changed automatically, so I changed it back, but to a really high resolution, and now it keeps moving, and going black every couple of seconds. It is impossible to change the resolution as the screen keeps moving. I have tried restarting it (with difficulty), I have turned it off at the main power supply and turned it back on and it still starts up with a moving screen. Any ideas?

A. Restart computer. Before Windows start loading up, start pressing F8 key until you see boot menu. From the boot menu choose Safe Mode. In the safe mode change the resolution back to original setting.

Q. The locker room is always chaotic it's not even funny anymore, it's hard enough that by the time I reach the locker room, I'm almost already late (a few floors up). What can I do to change into my gym uniform faster? I usually have to just take off my jewelery, change into my uniform, and then change my gym shoes. Does anyone have any tips for me. BTW: I usually take off my jewelery before I go into the locker room to save time.

A. I'm a guy, and I take off my shirt on the way to the locker room. Then once I enter the locker room, take off pants, then quickly open the locker, drop my clothing, take PE clothing. I run out the door while trying to wear pants, as it is slightly hard with shoes on. Then by the time I reach the gym or field, I'll wear my shirt and start class.
