how do you draw the structural formulas of the Hydroxyl, carboxyl, and phenol groups?
Q. These groups are found in salicylic acid and aspirin. I did an aspirin synthesis lab in chemistry class, and i need to draw the structural formulas for a lab report.

A. a hydroxyl group is simply OH. it forms one single bond. carboxyl is a C double bonded to an O, and forms a bond on either side of the carbon. a phenol group is just a benzene ring with a hydrogen taken off so it can bond to whatever backbone it may.
