is it possible to convert a boat to OPEN BOW from closed bow?
Q. i'm sure it's possible, i mean the only thing inside is benches too, so what happens if you cut the top? i am aware that i'll have to redesign those benches and re-upholster them and stuff, but what i'm interested to know is does the structure of the boat change significantly? i'd be doing this to the 1990 Chaparral 2550sx any info and opinions welcome.

A. sure, you can do it. but never mind the upholstery thats the least of your concerns. when you remove the top of the bow you have seriously compromised the structural integrity of the boat. this structural support MUST be replaced. no builder can tell you just what you need to do without looking at it but youve got work to do, more than you think.

What is the distance between our solar system and the next closest; from bow shock to bow shock?
Q. Bow shock being the buffer after the heliopause. I am looking to see if all solar systems bump up against each other, sort of like the way bubbles from a bubble machine bounce around; sometimes there is a lot of space between them sometimes they bounce off each other and sometimes they collide catastrophically.

A. The bow shock of our universe does not extend beyond the universe to affect another one. I may be wrong but I don't think it goes much beyond the Kupitor belt. B

How close to the water does the bow of this sinking ship have to get before liberals stop living in denial?
Q. Judging what I've observed so far and looking at the carnage liberalism has caused all around us, I am now fully convinced liberals would see this country totally collapse and still be blowing their " It's Bush's fault" party horns and touting liberalism as a complete success. Thanks in advance for your answers. God bless.

A. It is not denial it is simply a political tool, Obama and I have learned from history, Hitler's minister of propaganda Joseph Goebbels once said "if you tell a lie often enough, it becomes the truth." We will keep blaming Bush until everyone believes us along with our other truths.

How far should you be able to accurately shoot a bow before considering a hunt?
Q. I can cluster my shots with good consistency at around 40-50 yards. I've never tried farther than that though, as none of the ranges around here are any larger than that. I was wondering if I'd be ok to go bow hunting though...I mean, how close do most people usually let their target get before even considering a shot? Thanks for any input.
Asked by Lunaris - Fri Feb 27 13:37:02 2009 - - 14 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I think your over thinking the range issue. You shouldn't be worried about how far you can shoot before hunting, but keep your shots to where the game is in a range you can hit. If your constant at 40 yards with your hunting set up, ie broad head arrow in place of a target arrow, your good to go. Most archery hunters I know consider a 40 yard shot a long shot.

A. I'm not sure how Legolas did it, either (and I have and watch the DVDs every chance I get), but I do know that if the string happens to catch on anything it could result in a useless bow. Even for a "LARPer". The Mongols (and Huns, Tartars, Turks, Avars, etc) used a specially made "sheath" for their bows, slung at their sides. If you are using a recurve bow, and do not wish to/do not have time to unstring the bow, this would be the most efficient way to carry it while employing another weapon. Native Americans -- at least those known as "Plains Indians" -- also used a "sheath" for their bows, but the bow was unstrung. Suggestions for closing night bow?
Q. Hey I am the student producer of a play at my school and every year the producers do the their bows with some kind of prop. One year they sprayed silly string, one year they used confetti shooters, one year they incorporated part of the finale dance into the bow and we need something really cool this year. It cannot involve shaving cream or water or anything like that, we don't want the crowd to get mad at us. Any suggestions?

A. Have it tie in with the show. If it is about pirates, toss out those foil covered chocolate doubloons. Romantic comedy? Paper roses or red paper hearts. Thousands of plays, thousands of ideas. Good luck with your play!

A. What you have described is in fact called an "Arrow Rest". Go to any local Sporting Goods Store, Dick's,Sports Authority, Bass Pro Shops,ANY Archery Dealer etc. and you will find them there. Arrow Rests are a regular stock item and come in many varieties. Many have "Peel & Stick" backings to make installation fast and easy. I have no idea why you can't find them online because it is a pretty common item that wears out. Some examples of manufacturers are Hoyt Archery (Hoyt Pro-Rest),Bear Archery,PSE Archery... Bow Hunters: What steps do you take to keep venison from spoiling when hunting in hot weather?
Q. What would you do if you arrowed a deer in warm weather? Lets say you shot it at sunset. You have no garage. You have no walk in cooler. The butcher shop is closed. How would you preserve the meat?
Asked by niceperson99 - Fri Mar 27 21:43:42 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Luckily venison doesn't spoil easily. But you have to be prepared when you make a kill. In hot weather- and I live in the deep south, and sometimes it gets in the high 90's during the early part of the season. This is what I do.If I am hunting within 25 miles from the house, I will gut the deer on the ground and get it to the house as quickly as possible . Then I will take an ice chest and will quarter my deer up and pack it in ice. Then on a daily basis I will drain all the bloody water out and repack it in ice.I will do this for 3 days and then process the deer. The secret is to get it packed in ice as soon as possible. If hunting farther away from home, I will carry ice in ice chests in my truck and will quarter the deer up and pack it… [cont.]

Nintendogs: How do you get bow ties?
Q. I have a question about the bow ties on NIntendogs. I've had the game for about a month, and I like to say I am pretty close to knowing everything and anything about it. But, one thing I don't quite get is why do some pet's ribbons come on their head, and some on their chest? Are they two seperate items, or the same thing? I have a boy dog, and his shows up on his head too, so I know it's not a gender thing. ~Thanks in advance!~

A. No, it's not a gender thing. Actually it depends on the type of dog you have. For example... The Huskies have bowties, and the Golden Retrievers have the ties on their heads. Hope this helps.

I am looking for a recurve bow with 60# draw weight and around 28" draw length. Where can i find a bow online?
Q. Price range is up to $200 but the closer to $100 dollars or less (if even possible) the better. Links to websites would be greatly appreciated. I really would prefer a new bow as opposed to used but all suggestions are welcomed I am a rather large person perfectly capable of drawing a 60# bow or greater and I'm not at all new to archery. Otherwise I probably wouldn't be looking for a 60# bow

A. I know a good web sight Called Trad gang.com It is all traditional archery. I took the traditional step three years ago. First I would say #60 is not a good place to start. #45 is much better. The reason for a lighter weight is to get your form down first. Then move up to more weight. A good way to go is find a good used bow from somewhere. and learn on it. Shoot all the bows you can and find out what you like the best. I found I liked Longbows better than recurves. I also prefer a longer legnth bow over a shorter one. Watch out Trad archery is addicting. I have 2 custom longbows and two custom recurves. I also have 1 bear longbow and another Martin recurve. Good luck.

Good luck.
