College (Latin: collegium) is a term most often used today to denote degree awarding tertiary educational institution. More broadly, it can be the name of any group of colleagues, for example, an electoral college, a College of Arms or the College of Cardinals. Originally, it meant a group of persons living together, under a common set of rules (con- = "together" + leg- = "law" or lego = "I choose"); indeed, some colleges call their members "fellows". The precise usage of the term varies among the English-speaking countries. In the United States and Ireland, for example, the terms "college" and "university" may be regarded as loosely interchangeable, whereas in the United Kingdom, Australia and other Commonwealth countries, a "college" is usually an institution between school and university level (although constituent schools within universities are also known as "colleges").

What college is the best for studying the accounting profession in the state of Michigan?
Q. I am considering a college change. I have just earned my Associates at Baker College of Flint. I was wondering if there is a more credible college here in Michigan that may be recognized if I search for a job outside of the state or if I were to move further up north. I realized that most of my professors with degrees and CPA certifications have gone to the University of Michigan. Would I be seen as a more credible candidate if I went to U of M instead of Baker? Would it look bad to get my degrees (Associate and Bachelor) from two different colleges? I would appreciate professional answers.

A. You want to get yoru Bachelor's degree from the best institution possible and with the best grades you can achieve. You will have access to more corporate recruiters and a better alumni network if you attend the University of Michigan, so I would advise you to go there.

What do college softball scouts look for at college exposure tournaments?

A. It depends on what position you play. Number one, if you bat, they are looking for speed from home to first. That is most important. If you are a pitcher, hitting is not so important since most college pitchers will not see may times a the plate. If you are a regular defensive player(which means not pitcher) they are going to be looking for mechanics, speed, any extra effort you can give. If you are a pitcher, speed, movement of pitches, knowing when to throw a certain pitch. It really depends on where you play.
