Can I get into Colorado State University with a GPA of 2.4 but an act score of 27?
Q. Im a senior in high school and looking to apply to CSU (colorado state.) My gpa is a 2.4 because i slacked off my junior year and did really bad and messed up. However I scored a 27 on my act and was wondering if my act score would overlook my poor gpa.

A. If you're on a 10 point grading scale (where an A is a 90%, B 80%, etc) then it lowers your chances. I know that you'll need a high ACT score with that low of a GPA, but I don't know exactly what score you need. Factors that also come into play are college recommendations, extra curriculars, and your college essay. I'd recommend you to studentsreview.com to see how easy it is to get into there, but the admittance portion of the website is down right now.

Has anyone been accepted into Colorado State University's Vet Start Program?
Q. I got into Colorado State University's vet start program.They choose 5 freshman who are pursuing their Bachelor's at Colorado State and after completion of their undergrad degree, they get guaranteed acceptance into the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Has anyone been chosen for this program and have completed it? I want to know what to expect. I know it's going to be amazingly hard.

A. You must be an impressive student to be chosen for this. As a vet school student, i can say I did not find undergrad to be that difficult (and from what I understand with these vet start programs--it is just a regular undergrad degree like anyone else would be pursuing-you just have to keep your grade up). However once you hit vet school it becomes so much harder. Each class by itself is not that bad, but when they pile on 21 credits of classes a semester with huge huge huge piles of information it is quiet overwhelming and exhausing. But it is so worth it. If you want to be a vet this is a fantastic opportuinity, and you must be pretty impressive to be chosen for the program. So good luck, just keep keep up with the work.

Q. I know there is a way the state of colorado is sposed to give federal funding to children like my daughter who have major delays for a full day of kindergarten. The district saying it doesn't exist and I know I'm being lied too But the state of colorado and this school is giving a full day of kindergarten to children who are illegal for free. I have an ongoing battle with a domestic violence case. I do not want to press charges, but in the state of Colorado, someone had to go to jail. So my boyfriend went to jail. Now, I have to go to court and I do not want to. I was not the one who called the police, my co workers did. So my question is, what can I say or do to have the state of Colorado from pressing charges against my boyfriend? I told the prosecutor that I do not want to press charges, but they said I have no choice.

A. that law your referring to allows the cops to press charges in a domestic dispute in order to protect the victim. Often times the offender would coerce the victim in not pressing charges so they passed a law allowing charges to be pressed regardless if the victim doesn't want to. It also takes away some of the retalitory actions an offender may pursue if the victim was to actually be the one to press the charges. How much should I pay in taxes in the State of Colorado?
Q. I make approximately 43K. I claimed 1 on the worksheet for Colorado. I just started a new job. My paycheck had over $400 taken out of it for a two week pay period. That seems outrageous to me. That's about 25% of what I make. I know there are state taxes but isn't this alot. I would like to know my liability so I can get more in my checks without having to pay taxes when I do my return in 2009.

In the state of Colorado, do you have to change lanes when approaching vehicles on the shoulder?
Q. In Wyoming I was pulled over when I didn't change lanes when apporaching vehicles that were pulled over onto the shoulder. He gave me a written warning and said that he wasn't going to give me a ticket since I had attempted to get over but couldn't because of traffic. Does the same law apply in Colorado? What other states have this law?

A. Best of my knowledge, it is highly recommended to move to a farther lane when vehicles on parked on road's shoulder; didn't know it was a law. I believe it is an all-state law to move over AND slow down if ANY emergency vehicle is on or near shoulder including law enforcement vehicles with someone pulled over. Of course, move to shoulder & stop for any approaching emergency vehicle with the lights/sirens or could face ticket. For CO, could call the policy dept or Dept of Motor Vehicles for a sure answer. Me - I'd call the PD.
