How come the 110m Hurdles athletes never compete in the 100m Sprint?
Q. I just think its weird since its still a sprinting event. Bolt competes in 100m and 200m, so why cant liu xiang or robles compete in 110mH and 100m?

A. Hurdlers are sprinters. They are sprinting over barriers. There were at one time people who were Olympic champions in the 100 and 110, but it is not possible now. There are too many world class runners and the training for each event requires more time. Think about the hurdlers who run 110 meters running over 10 barriers that are 42 inches tall and doing it under 13 seconds. That means they can probably run the 100 in around 10 seconds, which would make them an elite 100 meter runner, but not an Olympic champion.

I am getting my wisdom teeth removed, can I compete performing a poomsae the next day?
Q. I have an appointment to get my 4 wisdom teeth removed and the next day there's a competition where I am going to compete performing Sam Jang. What do you suggest I do? Compete or not compete?
Asked by Silent_Smile - Sat Oct 6 07:50:34 2007 - - 10 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Participating in the event, with proper medication, may be good for your mental discipline. Think of it as a non-physical exercise which will help you transcend the pain, rather than as a competition. If you are not concerned with "winning" but just with being your best self, you should do well. In any case, plan to go, but don't force it. Play it by ear, see how you feel when the time comes. And yes, ask the doctor. That was a good suggestion about postponing the dental surgery, unless your wisdom teeth are impacted and already causing you pain.
