A. Your dgree will not have much vale as compared to full time mba'S., because they have almost 18 hours of daily studies, with access to libraies, professors, seniours etc. you should now attempt to get short duration courses(6MONTHS) FROM IIM'S and or xlri, jamshedpur to learn more and get a respectable job. please don'T MIND.

Are Army Correspondence courses accepted for credit by any colleges?
Q. If I take Army Correspondence courses, are there any colleges that will honor them for credit?
Asked by Sincerely Yours - Fri Jul 31 20:20:13 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. few ACCP courses have been evaluated for credit by ACE but the overwhelming majority are not. Some of the MOS qualifying courses can get you credit if you also get MOSQ and apply to a college that does experiential credit based on the ACE guides. You can use those ACCP courses as study prep for standardized exams such as CLEP/DANTES/ECE etc... some of those exams match up nicely to some ACCP courses. Things like counseling, drug abuse, health, etc... These are free for military people too. Most of the ACCP courses are things like "M-16..." or "MOUT" and there aren't many colleges that give credit for that. In addition to the ACCP courses, you may be eligible to take courses from USAF, USMC, USCG in their correspondence too. And there… [cont.]

Asked by Sarge - Sat Mar 24 16:23:00 2007 - - 7 Answers - 3 Comments

A. They take forever to do mind you I retired from personnel in 96 but there were worth 1 for every 5 points. So you had to do a million to get anywhere. When you get to correspondence course go directly to the test find the answer and go to the next do not read the entire book waste of time keep in and you can always go back.if your really interested in the subject. Ensure that you make copies of completed sub-course as they seem to get lost going to personnel (I worked there mine never made it) and when you get your total course completion also take that in. Take some of the easier ones first to start building. The go to the ones that has 200 or more they add up just keep doing them (Anyone can do them if the topic right like Pharmacy Asst) [cont.]

A. I would think you would contact the army and find out how to get the description. If that doesn't work, talk to admissions in the college you want to attend. They probably have experience with this.

A. First, I am assuming you are looking to get points for the NCO promotion board, good luck by the way. Now there are two things I will cover, the first is actually a little faster to get promo points than correspondence courses, and the second is actually on correspondence course points. If your going to the board, I suggest you go to your local ed center and take as many CLEP, DSST, & ECE Exams that you can. They are actually alot simpler and twice as fast as completely correspondence courses, and they count for actual college credits. These will give you points under the Civilian Education portion of your points detail. Second, I would advise not to cheat on getting points by correspondence course, it would disqualify you from your… [cont.]

Q. I can access the atia portal and I've enrolled in the classes, and I've taken a few tests that I knew I could pass without taking the course. Now I've gotten to a point where I need to take the course but I don't know how. Can someone give me directions to get to the actual course please. I'm using a mac if that makes any difference.

A. To go the the course information, simply click on the course name in the "My Enrollments" tab in the Portal. It will open a separate page that should have a link at the bottom to all of the course materials. Click and read. I'm also using a Mac, if that helps.

A. You should contact Excelsior College in Albany, NY, a highly respected college within the University of the State of New York system about earning alternative credit for their degrees. They will accept a wide variety of accredited coursework including correspondence courses and their own Excelsior College Exams, both of which can be accomplished at relatively low cost. Look at the correspondence courses offered by Ohio University and the Univ. of Wisconsin at Madison for excellent correspondence courses and credit by exam. (I have an associate's degree from Excelsior and I highly recommend them; www.excelsior.edu.) Generally, because of the low cost of these courses and exams and their flexible completion schedules, they are not subject… [cont.]

What college has correspondence courses that are easily taken as a deployed soldier?
Q. What college has correspondence courses that are easily taken as a deployed soldier?
Asked by Daniel - Sun Feb 28 10:33:08 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You're in the military now, correct? Talk to the officer leading your unit, and to other solidiers there. Your base - even if it's overseas - likely has relationships with specific universities, and those on base can tell you which ones have worked out best for other soldiers. One of the really big ones that works with the military is the University of Maryland. They're reputable and solid, and have significant numbers of deployed soldiers as students. Some branches of the military actually run their own community colleges. The Air Force, for example, does. That can also be an option.

Why don't we set up correspondence courses and apprenticeships for every profession so more people can do it?
Q. Why not create professional exams, that if you pass the tests and you do hours of work and practice with people who are already professionals, you become certified for those professions, including doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc.
Asked by iswaswill - Wed Mar 5 11:23:18 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It could be that people who are already in those professions don't necessarily want "more people" who can do their jobs--it would lower their pay scales. And, doctors, lawyers and engineers are responsible for having a great deal of knowledge & information--which is best taught in a formal setting, such as a college or university. (And, for that matter, I've even heard of something called a "bar exam"--much as you describe--for lawyers).

A. I would recommend that your friend find classes through your local recreation dept., community college or community center. Some high schools have evening classes that anyone can sign up for... most of these are fairly inexpensive and far superior to the distance learning programs on line or through the mail.
