Why do my Army correspondence courses say exempt when complete?
Q. I have been taking Correspondence Courses online and about one out of every four of them say "exempt" instead of "complete" after I finish them, can any one help me with this?
Asked by Kevin B - Mon Oct 5 19:55:19 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. it means you have already done it. i am guessing you see it when you look at the subcourses when they are a part of a course. don't worry about it, it counts towards the course, just no additional credit hours (because you already have those) good job on furthering your military education!

What kind of Correspondence courses can a 68W take?
Q. Is there a list anywhere? I heard 68W can take an 18D correspondence course. What's that like? If I want to persue my EMT-P license will my unit provide me time for that?
Asked by Sincerely Yours - Fri Jul 31 19:30:43 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Any army Soldier can take any available correspondence course. They do not have to be related to your own MOS. For a list, visit your ed center. As far as going after your EMT-P license, it's going to depend on your unit and their schedule. If you are supposed to deploy, then they likely won't give you time to do it. If you were assigned to a hospital, they might give you the time.

A. I suppose you can take the same course more than once. I recall I did when they were in different base courses. As far as retirement points are concerned. Forget it pardner, you don't get any. Only time in service counts toward retirement. Correspondence course points are good for promotion though. Good luck to you

A. The School of Natural Healing, founded by, John R. Chrisotpher, is a top notch place. Dr. Christopher was one of the greatest herbalists in the modern era. Do some research on him and you will see. It's amazing how many other hebal books reference his works. Here is the site: Compare any other school you look at with them. Also get his great book titled with the same name you won't be dissappointed. One more thing "accreditation" is something you should look into as well. There are many places that are "self accredited" which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Find out the meaning of "accreditiation" in actuality. The concept is in many cases a barrier to competetition. Take law schools for example. In California you can take the bar exam… [cont.]

Is anyone out there doing school courses through correspondence studies?
Q. Correspondence is kind of like homeschooling but with homeschooling, your parents (or a tutor) is teaching you at home, where as with correspondence, you are basically teaching yourself. You have no teacher to push you. For those of you who are doing it, or who have done it before, how did you discipline yourself to sit down and do it? And how long did it take you on average to receive one credit? I had 11 credits to complete before graduating from high school and I have been doing these courses for nearly 2 years. I still have 5 more credits to get, and I feel like it's going too slow.

A. I always found correspondence courses rewarding because I can do it at my own pace. I only took two during high school...health and history of world civilizations. They both required a huge amount of reading...but they were really easy because all you had to do was regurgitate the reading into "fill in the blank" style worksheets. Then you took the self tests in the back of the book that came with the answers so you could check yourself. At the end of the course, you had to go to an actual classroom and take a final exam that was an exact copy of the self tests...so all you had to do was memorize the self tests! Seems pretty cake right? It was, however, I learned so much because it wasn't stressful like other high school classes at… [cont.]

What are some trustworthy on line universities or correspondence courses?
Q. Live too far out to go to a school... All recommendations and advice appreciated...
Asked by Grimm - Fri Aug 18 12:34:17 2006 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The best approach is to apply to an accredited school that offers programs online. Many community colleges and universities offer courses online; it is rare, though, for full programs to be offered fully online, though you may find a few in your search. Stay away from "correspondence schools": those are not likely to be accredited and your degree will be worthless. My suggestion is to start in your local area: which colleges or universities are closest to your home and what courses are offered online in the field of your interest? If you choose a local campus, you will pay resident-based tuition and not out-of-state tuition which is far higher. All the best to you.

Has anyone been charged under UCMJ for cheating on Army Correspondence courses for promotion?
Q. Just wondering, don't think it's fair for someone like me who is 6 credit hours from my Bachelor's Degree to still be "promoteable" but not promoted because I refuse to cheat. Yet, others with no civilian education whatsoever are selected for promotion and make points because they cheat. Kind of a FUBAR promotion system when you can obtain 200 promotion points for cheating and I get 100 points for a bachelors degree!!

A. B.Tech(Electrical and Electronics Engineering) is offered in the Distance Education mode by SRM University, Tamil Nadu. Did you do your diploma after completing 10+2 / HSC / equivalent? If so, you can join for B.Tech of 4 years duration in any stream/specialisation that you may be interested in. Lateral entry, however, is possible only in the relevant area of specialisation.

A. There are NO ABA-approved paralegal courses online or in a distance program. You have to go to an on-campus program only. I just started paralegal school for a certificate. I have a BA, and I am returning to a community college. I did A LOT of research and this was the only approved school near me (there are community colleges that are not approved!!!). My program requires field work and an internship. The school also offers an Associates. We have people driving a distance because it is approved. Also, if you attend classes at a NON-approved school and want to transfer to an approved one, the classes you took at the non-approved one will not be accepted at the approved one. That is how strict they are. You are much much better off going… [cont.]
