What is the average cost of owning a horse in New Hampshire?
Q. Ive always loved horses and would like to have my own one day. I have a career that pays between 58k-80k a year. I am planning on living in New Hampshire and have my own barn with plenty of acreage. I would like to know how much it would cost per month or per year to own a horse on your own property. Please include cost of hay and all that stuff :) Oh, if youre unsure of the prices in NH, I'd be happy with the average cost in the New England area of the U.S. Thanks!!

What is the difference between cost and distribution cost?
Q. If cost is what it costs to make a product. How do you figuere your distribution cost. Does that just mean cost + shipping=distribution cost?
Asked by JOSHTERESE - Thu May 3 21:08:27 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. distribution cost is usually a seperate line on a business plan. Its what the cost will be to get your product to the customer no matter who they are. If make something and plan on having one warehouse or ten if you first ship by rail then bu truck. It is all costs involved in getting the product delivered to where it has to go. This woould be listed on the business plan seperate. So you plan might have a line for marketing cost, productions costs, administrative costs, distribution costs, Personal costs, Insurance costs, etc. Then you add them all up for total cost.

Travel Costs: Can someone let me know the basic cost of prices in the Philippines?
Q. I am planning a 9 day trip to Cebu and the surrounding islands. I've never been to the Philippines before. How much are daily necessities, such as food/transportation/pub prices and handicraft shopping cost? Please let me have the costs in USD. Thanks!

A. Going to a decent bar, you can get a a fancy drink for as low as 2USD. A beer can be lower than .50 USD but it depends where you go. Transportation, depends what you take. If you rent a car for a day with a driver, it can set you back as much as 40USD but that's from morning to evening, again, it depends where you rent your car. Food is cheap, an inexpensive decent meal can cost as low as 2USD. If you want to go to fancy/touristy places, it may cost as much as 20USD for a 3 course meal. Handicrafts, there are wood handicrafts if that's your thing, those are inexpensive (keychains can cost .50USD, home decor can go for as low as 5 USD) but you should really buy "native" bags made of natural materials that can go for as low as a dollar… [cont.]

What does it cost to maintain an asphalt surface or parking lot?
Q. I am purchasing a 16-space parking lot covering a little over 6000 sq ft. These are rented monthly spaces. I need to find out how much it costs to maintain a parking lot (besides snow removal), and how often it will need to be re-sealed/re-paved. If anyone knows the cost to re-seal/re-pave, and how frequently this needs to be done on average, this would be helpful. If there are other maintenance requirements besides re-sealing/re-paving, please let me know.

How do I calculate the cost of goods sold for a video game developer?
Q. I am developing a business plan for a small game development company. I have read that most game development companies' cost of goods sold is equal to the amortized development costs after the game is ready to be sold. I cannot find any detailed examples of how this is done. As far as I can tell, my only cost of goods would be the development costs and some licensing costs. But these are not variable with the number of units sold, which throws everything off! Help! Is there anyone out there that has done this?
Asked by stevepuma - Sun Nov 9 17:47:05 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The only way to calculate the cost of goods sold is to take the total cost of production (development and licensing costs, packaging, etc.) and divide it by the number of units sold. If you are trying to forecast the COGS you should take the total cost and divide it by the expected number of units sold.

How much does it cost to have a suit jacket tailored?
Q. My boyfriend has lost quite a bit of weight and needs his suit jacket tailored down approximately 4-6 sizes. It's a quality jacket and the cost of tailoring it might be cheaper than buying a lower-end suit jacket that's his size, so we're considering just doing that. I know costs vary by region, but for anyone who's had this done, what's a general estimate?
Asked by TheOrange Evil - Thu Oct 1 15:14:29 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Once you do more than have the sleeve length adjusted, and perhaps have the buttons moved, jackets can't realisticaly be tailored for a practical cost. To explain, a quality jacket has canvas between the jacket matrial and the lining. That means three layers of fabric that has to be unstiched, re-cut, and re-stitched. That is no less than 5 or 10 hours of work, at $20 - $25 an hour.

How much does it cost to move house?
Q. In the next six months we are probably going to buy a new house around 280K. How much is it roughly is it going to cost us to move. We aren't selling our currant place, so aren't worried about selling costs, just buying and moving costs. I can think of stamp duty, moving vans, solicitors fees, have I missed anything? What have been peoples experiences with moving costs? Thanks.

A. Well I guesstimate it's around 10k just for those things you mentioned. So add whatever you choose to spend in new house, carpets, appliances, curtains, decorating, extra furniture, heating check. etc...and you'll finish up with a nice big number. :-)

What would it cost to buy something today that cost 9 in 1963?
Q. My mother bought a hat for our wedding in 1963 which cost her 9. It practically cost as much as my dress! What would be the equivalent price today.
Asked by Spanishscotty - Thu Feb 12 04:56:33 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If you apply the increases in the Retail Prices Index (RPI) from Feb. 1963 to date, the equivalent of 9.00 in 1963 is 125 today. NB. RPI has been rebalanced 3 times since 1963, hence why 3 separate calcs; 191.8/102.7 x 9.00 = 16.81 394.5/108.5 x 16.49 = 59.96 212.9/101.9 x 59.96 = 125.27

A. Bandett is right, and you do not provide enough details to adequately answer. Most Dealers that sell these new include "delivery & set-up" in the cost of the unit... But is "set-up" simply "tieing it down" with some twist into the ground anchors and "leveling" it with concrete blocks and oak wood shims on piers in the ground... Or do you want it set on a concrete block foundation, or a poured concrete foundation with steel crossbeams? IF you put it on your own land, what will it cost to put in water, sewer and electric? What are the neighborhood covenants/restrictions? Can I set one up and be your neighbor and have 15 junk cars in my backyard? Obviously, a poured concrete foundation is best, because it will be "dug into" the ground… [cont.]

What is the cost estimate for dry docking?
Q. Trying to get an idea of what it will costs to dry dock and those services and fee's related only to dry docking for a 40 foot glass sailboat. I understand dry docking costs may very between yards, but what can I expect for an average to use for planning a budget. I am not asking about the direct cost of repairs for those materials and services to the boat it self just dry docking services such as, haul out/in and stroage etc. Thanks.
Asked by z z - Thu Jan 4 07:03:02 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. That depends on if its a short haul (no blocking of the boat) or a long haul ( blocking required). In my area a short haul is about $50 a foot and a long haul goes about $100 a foot.

Is the cost of the different octane ratings in gasoline worth the price difference?
Q. The difference in cost of the 87 and 93 rated octane gasoline is often about 20-25 cents. Is this cost justified by the extra performance or would one get more mileage out of the $2-3 worth of extra gas saved by buying the cheap gas?
Asked by Eagle1 Fox2 - Thu Sep 25 21:15:03 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. you will not get any added performance if you use 91 octane gasoline in a car that was designed to use 87 octane gasoline. To answer your question, you will not see any added performance from your car, UNLESS it was designed to run on 91 initially and you were giving it 87. If you put 87 in a car designed for 91, you will get engine knock and detonation, which is harmful to the engine. It is best to put the specified octane rated fuel from the car manual

You will need to pay for The Home Owners Insurance Coverage for 1 YEAR . The seller can help you with up to 6 percent of closing cost on FHA, and up to 3 % on a Conventional loan. So the title fee, lender fees, underwriting fees, broker fee, processing fee, flood cert, etc can be paid for by the seller On a Refinance: Cost associated with your loan.
