Q. I'm in undergrad at Binghamton University, have a 3.1 GPA, pretty strong recommendations and a decent essay. What are my chances? Asked by aroses619 - Sat Feb 23 20:42:44 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. I think you have a chance of getting in! I would try to contact a professor in the dept and tell him/her your situation. I would emphasize how strongly you want to get in the program and what can you do to increase your chance of getting in. My friend was rejected (not even waitlisted) at Columbia's grad program - he had poor grades. He made an appointment with one of the profs in the program and met with him. He was accepted within a couple weeks. The faculty members in the dept make the decision, not the admissions office. Answered by rockin - Sat Feb 23 20:55:47 2008 Good school for guidance counseling? Q. I am interested in getting my masters in elementary guidance counseling or community counseling. What schools offer this program. Are there online programs for guidance counseling? Asked by Erica K - Mon May 19 21:56:04 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Online school is ideal if you are a working adult with many responsibilities. When you graduate your diploma will not emphasize the word "online" but the name of the University as it is a regular diploma but the only difference is you did not commute to class. I know because I obtained my MBA in Finance from AIU Online; very rewarding. Have a great day! Answered by Herbert - Mon May 19 22:16:20 2008 Can you go into the human resources field with a masters degree in guidance and counseling (psychology)?
Q. im going back to school and i would like to pursue a career in human resources. does anybody have any information regarding this manner? Asked by angieb - Sat Jun 23 03:14:56 2007 - - 0 Answers - 0 Comments A. HR is a field of climbing the ladder without any need for advanced educational credentials. I would suggest you find a job in the HR area and work your way up. Get your employer to pay for your educational expenses while you're at it. Otherwise, simply having a masters without any experience will still only qualify you for entry level HR work.
