A. Anatomy and physiology will be very helpful if you plan on attending a massage school. Also, a basic psychology class if it's offered at your high school. Massage schools range from 9 months to 3 years, depending on where you live. Some schools are in a college type setting and others are less formal.

What courses do you take in medical school to become a surgeon?

A. Medical school trains you to become a MD. Once you become a MD you choose the medical specialty you want to pursue and enter a residency program. The first two years of medical school are done in classrooms and labs. The instruction is called Basic Sciences and the courses are generally all about the same: Histology, Embryology, Genetics, Physiology, Biochemistry, Gross Anatomy, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Neurosciences and Pathology. These are the core sciences and each school adds additional classes such as Epidemiology and Ethics. The second two years of medical school are called Clinical Rotations. This is where students are taught by senior physicians in settings such as hospitals, clinics and offices. The rotations are done… [cont.]

What courses should i take to be a landscape designer?
Q. I'm in gr.9 rite now and I'm having trouble figuring out what courses I should take next year if i want to become a landscape designer. I'm taking tech this year, because we get to learn how to design stuff on the computer, but I'm not taking art and i don't know if i should next year. There's an art - computer course, but I'm not really sure what it's about. And I know I should take biology in gr.11 too. I need to book an appointment with my guidance counselor, but until then if anyone has any ideas on what courses i should take, please help.

A. Hi I am currently at Keystone College majoring in Landscape Architecture My best suggestions is to load up on science and art take Biology, chemistry, enviornmental science, and Horticulture if your school has it. Horticulture is the study of plants.. (pretty big deal with landscape design) load up on art.. figure drawing, 2-D and 3-D design, drafting Take some computer/ drawing classes as well. Alot of the new designs for landscaping are now being done on computer Hope this helps

What courses do I need to take to become an elementary teacher?
Q. I'm in highschool right now, grade 10. I live in Ontario. I want to become an elementary school teacher. What courses should I take to prepare myself to become a teacher? Are there any necessary courses that I need to take in highschool to get into a teaching course in university?
Asked by Nicole L - Tue Feb 9 19:29:09 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. All you need to take in high school is all the necessary classes to graduate. When you get accepted into college, your adviser will give you a list of all the courses you will need to take while in college to get your BA in teaching. However, if you want to get a feel for the teaching profession and make sure that is what you want to do before you get into college, then try taking an internship class. I'm an English Education major (I want to teach high school English) and the classes I took in high school were: American History, World History, World Civilization 1 and 2, Civics and Economics, Chorus all 4 years, Spanish 1 and 2, Digital Communications (computer class), Teacher Cadet 1 (teaching internship), Biology, Physical Science,… [cont.]

A. Advanced sciences and math ( adv. algebra, calculus) are the best choices. If your school offers statistics, I'd take that as well. If you have bad handwriting, you are already ahead of the curve as most doctors can't write for &*^%...lol.

What courses would help an English major in the business world?
Q. I'm graduated with an English degree and I've noticed a lot of companies I'm interested in require some business know how. I want to take some business courses but don't have enough time to attend college full-time. Would a business certificate from extension courses make the slightest difference on my resume, or is it better to simply get a bachelor degree from an online college? Or get an AS degree from a community college? I'm looking for the choice that would have the most impact on future employers.

A. I too have an English degree with writing emphasis - generally showing that you are capable of communication is the biggest advantage you will have while looking for a job. I have never had a problem getting a job based upon not having enhanced my education with business certification, but I have indicated in my application that I am willing to obtain such upon receipt of a job offer - and the company I worked for paid for the courses! There are too many people with business or marketing degrees out there, and not enough that know proper sentence structure or syntax, and more frequently large companies are looking for that ability to effectively communicate ideas. Good luck!

What courses should i take in high school, to become an electrician?
Q. What courses do you recommend, and what courses do i need to take?

A. This is a link to an school who trains in this profession. It will help you get an idea of the process and requirements: If you attend a comprehensive high school there should be classes that are directly related to this field and they will have prerequisites to the class. Mathematics such as Algebra, Geometry and Physics. Any class that will teach you about schematics will also help you. In addition, you can obtain a study guide for the licensure exam and get an idea of the types of things you will be tested on and take classes that are related to the subjects on the exam.

Q. I need to register for my courses tomorrow. This is my first year of a four year Arts program at McGill University and I'm wondering how many courses I need to take for this term? Ideally I'd like to do my degree in 2.5-3 years (including summer terms) so what's the minimum number of classes I need?

A. I'm not sure how many courses you would need but in order to be a full time student you need at least 12 credit hours. It all depends on the class how many credit hours it is.

A. Not a definitive list by any means, but something to get you started. Classes that rigorously develop reading, writing, and reasoning skills are what I've been told. If you pick up an LSAT prep book, you can tell just what type of thinking and problem solving skills they expect. Best of luck to you!

A. If your school offers AP classes take those so you might get credit for them & won't have to take them again in college. Since many college aps in the US are due late fall early winter the senior year and many will announce their acceptance or rejection in the spring (before final grades) senior year grades aren't as important as the freshman thru junior year. They will look at what classes you take your senior year to make sure you aren't slacking off but your grades from prior years will pretty much seal your fate. What courses to take in high school to become a detective?
Q. i've always found that job fascinating and i'm in my 1st year of high school. what high school courses would be best to take to get into that occupation? and for later years, what college would be best for that job?
Asked by J. Twist - Sat Apr 12 21:23:41 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. There are no specific courses to take in High School. Most detectives work their way up from being cops. I would do well in high school and go to college because most cops don't do past their A.A. degree. So, a B.A. will help you advance faster once you are in the academy. Of course you have to keep yourself in good physical shape to become a cop, so you might want to take up a sport. If you really want to advance even faster an M.A. in public administration or criminal justice would help you move up even faster.

No you will not have to take those subjects every year of your high school, it is based on a semester so like three months, until you graduate. Good luck!

Asked by sj_chic - Mon Oct 5 14:35:04 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) has a specific major in Jewelry Design. If you watch the television show, "Project Runway", this current season (Season 6) is actually filmed at FIDM. You will find that majors as specific as Jewelry Design are usually found at specialized fashion, art, or design schools. At more standard 4 year Universities, a major like that will be harder to find because it's so specific. Comparably, at these Universities you'll likely find yourself looking into general Art majors, that may offer a few classes in metal & jewelry design if you're lucky. Art majors and classes may also offer art design and graphic design classes that may teach skills that you could incorporate into a career of… [cont.]

What courses do i need to take for psychology?
Q. I'm in Grade 11, and I want to be a psychologist. What courses do I need to take in high school so I can be a psychologist. I'm taking Anthropology, is that a good start?

A. that's good, but you'll get everything you need in college - most of what you get in high school won't do you any good except maybe make a couple classes easier for you. I majored in psych in college. To be a psychologist you'll need basic psych, abnormal psych, chemistry classes if you want to be a psychiatrist (they write perscriptions, psychologists do not), research and statitics classes and some writing. There are lots of other more specific psychology classes you'll be able to take in college.
