How can you make your hair curly without going to a hair salon or using a machine that makes your hair curly?
Q. Are there others ways to keep your hair curly and lets it be curly for more than an hour? Without going to a hair salon or using a machine that makes your hair curly?

A. Scrunch it while its damp and use curling mousse all over it along with scrunching spray. When your hair is wet, put a little amount of mousse on it WITHOUT srunching it. Then tie your hair in braids, the bigger the wave the bigger the braid. But if you want smaller waves or curls all at once do sections of braids when its damp, go to bed and when its dry take it out put serums and spray in it etc. It will it come out more wavy than curly. If you cant braid well, you can do tiny buns all at once. When hair is damp, like before put a TINY bit of mousse in it without scrunching it. Then in small sections twirl the hair peice in a tiny bun at the top. Keep doing this to all of the peices to your hair. In the morning when its dry take it… [cont.]

How do I get curly hair without getting up early every morning?
Q. I have beach wavy hair. I like it but I want it to have more volume and be curlier. Sort of like Taylor Swift But every thing I read about getting curly hair includes using a defuser(I have one) and then curling. But I hate getting up so early to do my hair. I usually take showers the night before. When I sleep with it wet, it also gets frizzy and crazy too. So how do I get pretty, curly, frizz-free hair without having to blow dry it every morning?
Asked by Maggie H - Wed Sep 24 17:53:13 2008 - - 10 Answers - 2 Comments

A. well how long is your hair? if you want curly hair you don't want it to look short when it curls so your hair needs to be about 14-18 inches long, or else it'll look to short. so if your hair isnt about that length i know you'll hate this but i would recomend wanting till it grows that long! but if its already grown that long this is what you do, the best thing is to take showers in the morning but if you dont wanna do that and take them the night before you need to blow dry your hair with a hair blow, an ionic hair blower would be best. so then it wont frizz in the morning, blow dry it until is basicly completly dry (dont do this every single day or else your hair will get dried out, but like a few times a week wouldnt do to much harm) [cont.]

How do you make curly hair less curly?
Q. I have taylor swift like hair. Sometimes I like to have it straight or just wavy. What can I do to make it less curly. Also what makes curly hair easier to straighten?Like natural/home items or remedies?(I have plenty hair sprays/shampoos and all that) I know the obvious answers straigthten it but what could make my hair LESS curly so it's easier to flat iron.
Asked by Sydney - Wed Jul 15 19:45:54 2009 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments

A. i also have curly hair and i know exactly how you feel when you want it straight, when you get out of the shower brush your hair with a wide toothed comb while spritzing whatever works best to attack the frizz. Dont mess up the way you brushed it and leave it til its dry. This works for me. Or straighten it with a balm and a flat iron. But if you REALLY want it straight then go to a salon, pay hundreds of dollars and possibly damage your hair for life. You decide, :) Good Luck

How can you make curly hair curly again after using a one week straightener?
Q. I have naturally curly hair, and I made the stupid mistake of using one of those "one week straighteners" in my hair about 3 months ago. Now the bottom half of my hair is curly again, but the top half is straight! It damaged it so much that parts of it just brake of, even though I constantly only put conditioners in it, and never use any heat applications on it. I assume I will have to just wait for it to grow out, but is there anything else I can do in the mean time? A perm on the straight part would probably just make it worse, would it? Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thanks!

A. get a good inch cut off at your salon. that will help to restore some of your hair's natural strength and curl. ask them to put in a protein treatment which sure nourish your scalp. you may also was to try a 'reconstructer'. good luck!

How much does the prevalence of curly hair vary throughout Europe?
Q. I have heard many things about curly hair being associated with African ancestry. Now, there is genetic evidence of varying amounts of DNA from African migrations into Europe, or contact with Phoenicians and the like, in certain regions, but I'm not sure how much to believe it. I want to know if the prevalence of curly hair matches up with the appropriate regions. Is curly hair significantly more common around the Mediterranean and the Balkans than elsewhere in Europe? Edit: I have a pretty sweet head of curly hair too.

How do I make my hair appear curly without leaving it crunchy?
Q. My hair has always been naturally curly, but a couple months ago I chemically relaxed it. It's growing in now so my roots are lots curlier than the rest of hair. I could just relax it again, but it damages my hair a lot, so I was wondering if anyone had any tips to making my hair appear curly with out leaving it crunchy or hard?
Asked by Rayo - Wed Oct 28 20:07:14 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. That all depends on your specific hair. Hair products work differently on every type of hair. First, try products that get rid of frizz. They usually make curls defined, but not gross. I've tried to tell my own mother this...if you put too many or too much product in your hair, its going to give it the crunch. Moisturize your hair like there's no tomorrow, as well. Letting it dry by itself and not putting a lot of heat to it will help the frizz and help stop damaging it. Unless you use a diffuser.

A. My nanna told me that to get wavy curls you must: 1. Get a peice of hair and put a bit of mouse on it. 2. Twirl the peice of hair around your finger. 3. Put a clip (preferbelly a grip) and pin it on your head. (So your hair looks like a spiral stuck to your head). 4. Then get your hairdryer and blow hot air onto the swirls. 5. Leave it to go cold - or it will just drop instantly. 6. When it's cool, unravel the swirls and yes it may seem very crisp. But get your haircomb and comb it and it should look natural and wavy. Hope this helps! Good luck! xoxox

How can I make my curly hair look professionally curled?
Q. I have naturally curly hair, but the curls seem to be all over the place and some are large, some small. Is there anything I can do to make the curls seem as if they were done with curlers? I can't actually use curlers on my hair, since I'm trying to grow out some layers and my hair gets frizzy with them. I read somewhere that if you have curly hair, you shouldn't use shampoo on your hair and should just use conditioner by itself. Is this a good idea?

A. Get 'Frizz Ease'. -i think it's John Frieda. Its SO great, and calms down curls easily, and makes them smooth and shiny. No WAY, wash your hair about 3-4 times a week. All the magazines are saying is that dirty (i mean unwashed for 2 days, not for 2 weeks) is easier to manage and style because you dont get as many fly aways. Also, if you wash your hair, then condition, but DONT rinse it out. Leave it in for about 3 minutes, and THEN rinse. When you have rinsed, put in a TINY amount, like 3 pea sized blobs, and cover all of your hair. Then get out of the bath/shower and proceed as normal =). This will just make sure your hair is sleek and shiny. Hope this helps! not sure if it did. :L. xxx

How do I keep my curly hair nice when I sleep on it?
Q. My very naturally curly, shoulder-length hair always looks really fabulous until I sleep on it. Then it stays kind of curly but a few strands get seriously messed up and it becomes all around frizzed out a little. Just messing up the style, I guess. Does anyone have a good method for keeping the curls/style intact overnight? Thanks.

A. By wrapping up your hair at night with a silk or satin scarf and also using hair rollers. You can either just roll up your ends since you said that they seemed to be frizzy in the morning also add some type of hair oil on the ends to tame the frizz.

Asked by off limits - Sat Oct 27 13:48:54 2007 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments

A. I have curly hair too! to get the beachy sort of wave, try this: after washing your hair, towel dry it until damp. Apply mouse or a little bit of light gel. If you use gel, use it very sparingly as you don't really want a wet look or crispy hair. The amount of product will depend upon how thick your hair is. Next, braid your hair in 1, 2, 3, or 4 braids. If you have the time, sleep in the braids overnight so that the hair can air dry then take the braids out in the morining and style. If you don't have overnight to wait, blow dry the braids making sure you don't hold the blow dryer too close to the hair (to prevent heat damage). hold the hair dryer at an angle pointing downward into the braid but down toward the end of the hair as… [cont.]

For hair products Sunsilk has beachy wave spray it looks like this If you don't want a spay Sunsilk also have wave gel it's in a blue bottle and looks like this

How do you perminantly straighten naturally curly, regularly died hair?
Q. My friend regularly dies her hair, but its Naturally curly. No matter how much she straightens it, it seems to go back curly. How do I keep my naturally curly hair from frizzing?
Q. My hair is very thick, coarse textured and curly, the curls don't lay all uniform and pretty like a perm, they seemingly have lives of their own-lol. A. I wouldn't recommend biosilk - I've tried it and it just weighs my hair down and it's hard to wash out, very heavy. I have had incredible success following the "curly girl" instructions, a book I found many years ago. Here they are in short form, but if you can find it somewhere, do buy it, it's a great read and all your curly haired friends will love to borrow it! Mine is always out on loan. Anyways, here is what you have to do: 1. STOP shampooing - it just dries out your hair and makes it brittle and frizzy. Instead, use conditioner to wash and then conditioner to condition. Basically you cannot "shampoo" with a product that has sodium lauryl sulfate in it, that is the stuff they put in dishwashing soap - it creates a lather and ruins… [cont.]

How do I moisturize my naturally curly hair?
Q. I have naturally curly hair. I blow dry it usually to get it to liven up and curly nicely. But that leaves me hair dry. And when it's dry, it will only get fuzzy undefined curls. I have started to only shampoo once every 3 or so week and just condition and not rinse out my conditioner. That seems to work, but then my hair gets greasy and my head starts to get a light odor because it isn't clean. Do you have any things that will moisturize my curls? Products or remedies?

A. I have the same type of hair... except mine is mid-calf... NEVER been cut. SO it's prolly a 100x worse. AND I live in the tropics where the humidity is 85% almost every day. Anyway, I was advised to shampoo once or twice a week (cuts down on grease) AND to use a moisturizing conditioner (not a volumizing one... like I did) exactly like you are... don't rinse it out all the way. Letting your hair naturally air dry might help.

A. I personally like Tresemme'. I use the hair volumizer and the curling gel...Omg I love it. It gives you beautiful soft, controllable curly hair. It allows you to do anything with it. You can start off with dove shampoo and conditioner, that's what I do because it helps makes your hair softer. Or you can try a leave in conditioner as well. None of these products are expensive..you can get them at pretty much any store such as Target, Rite-Aid, etc. I hope I helped. good luck!!
