What do you know about the Czech Republic?
Q. We are supposed to find out how much people know about our country. It is for homework. Just say everything you know about the Czech Republic. Please don't do any research, just say what you know, or say you've never heard of it before. If you could include your nationality in the answer, it would be very helpful. Thanks. Minor corrections of answers-I just cant help myself. MikeInRI -Czechoslovakia broke up several times, and reunited several times, but the final break up was in 1993. Czech Republic is a member of NATO. You know more than I thought. Where do you come from?

A. The Czech Republic was part of Czechoslovakia until in broke in the early 1990's. Its capital city is Prague. The native lauguage is Czech. The dominant religion is Roman Catholicism which was heavily suppress during the Communist Regime. It was part Austria-Hungary until Austria-Hungary was broken up into various know republics under the Treaty of Versailles (which is what created Czechslovakia). Per capita income has been rising ever since the end of communist rule and the Czech Rep. economy is considered stronger that its former sister republic Slovakia. It was a member of the Warsaw Pact and is not a member of NATO. It is a member of the EEC It is a member of the UN Its form of government today is similar to Norway's and other… [cont.]
