I bought a Dell Inspiron 1525 and it has been in the boxing stage for two days. Should it really take that long to box a laptop. No I didn't add any software. I call the number to check my status. When do they update the satus of your system. I called this morning around 7 Mountain Time and it was still in the boxing stage. It has been in that stage for three days now. I was wondering if that is normal? Asked by ash - Thu Feb 12 16:03:09 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. No, it shouldn't take that long. According to Dell, once it's in the boxing stage, the system has already been built. At that point, they just need to add any bundled software or manuals. Did you request /purchase any software with your computer? If so, there's a possibility that they need to wait until that software becomes available so that they can include it with your computer. Answered by TechBuddy - Thu Feb 12 16:14:49 2009 How long should memory in a dell laptop last?
Q. I have had my laptop for two years with no problems but lately either the LED will go crazy and I'll be forced to manually turn it off or when I turn it off voluntarily, it will not reboot. The A indicator flashes and then the computer turns back off. Someone at dell told me I needed to replace the memory but will that fix my problem? How long is memory supposed to last? Is there something I can do to prolong the end of my memories life until I recieve the new memory in the mail? Asked by starchild765 - Mon Dec 10 20:10:31 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Well as long as the memory has not been subjected to static discharges or overheating, the memory modules should outlast the computer itself. Before I went and bought new memory, I think I would try removing the chips and reinserting them. This usually fixes 95% of all memory chip related problems. Sometimes heat causes the chips to get loose. Removing them and reinserting them usually bring back the nice tight fit that they require. Oh I would take the battery out and unplug the power cord for 10-15 minutes before touching the memory chips.
