Q. Also, what types of electric guitars did John Denver own? What kind did he prefer? I can't find any recordings of John Denver on electric guitar.

A. I don't know if John Denver played electric guitar. What I know is that he liked the Acoustic Guitar. And for the genres that he played, it's the right one.

Moving to Denver from Houston and looking to get involved in law enforcement?
Q. I'm planning on moving to Denver from Houston in a few months. I've lived here my whole life and now I'm tired of it. I'm currently in college but I want to get involved in law enforcement. If anyone knows about the PD in Denver, is it fairly easy to get in and are they in need for officers like in bigger cities?

A. Welcome, and congrats on your new career path. I've been with the department for 18 years and know a little about it. There are several phases of testing beginning with a written exam (general knowledge) they say it's not too tough, but some say it's hard. The other phases are a physical test, psych exam (900 questions of BS), oral interview, polygraph, medical screen, background check. **These are not in order** Is it easy to get on?? IDK, it seems that there are some who get on that have no business being cops but I guess it's that way in every department. We had a class graduate not too long ago, and they are in FTO right now. Here is a recruiting link. Check it out and good luck! Feel free to email me with any other questions.… [cont.]

I am considering moving to Denver From Tennessee what is Denver Like?
Q. I am looking for someone who is from Denver. I am planning to move out there because my husband's family is in Denver. Currently we have no family near us in Nashville. What are the pros and cons of Denver? What are some good neighborhoods to live in?
Asked by TennesseeGirl - Mon Aug 13 17:31:47 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Denver's awesome. I hope someday I'll find myself back there. Good neighborhoods include, but are not limited to: Cherry Creek, Englewood, Lakewood, Littleton, Highlands Ranch. There are a lot of great neighborhoods, actually. The weather is great out there. You get all 4 seasons, unlike the south where it's just hot, hot, and hotter. What's cool about Denver weather is that a lot of time when it snows, it's sunny and beautiful the next day (every now and then you do get blizzards, though). There's a lot of great shopping, lots of great music venues, and a lot of great bars (someone told me that Denver has more bars per capita than any other city in the U.S.) The people are very friendly there, and you're close to the mountains. … [cont.]

Where in the denver or surrounding area should I live?
Q. I am 34 and single, my daughter just starting college in Arizona. I live in middle class standards and I am self employed. There are pros and cons to living in either the outskirts of Breckenridge or in the city of denver and I can't decide where to move to. I love the mountains but need to be close to coffee shops and fun stuff. If I should live in Denver, what part of the city is good but yet affordable? I am moving sight unseen to CO at the end of August and it doesn't matter where I go. Any suggestions? TIA!

What cars are best for Denver winter driving?
Q. I am moving from Houston to Denver and want to know what types of cars (not SUVs, trucks, etc) are best from driving there due to the snow and ice. I won't be driving up into the mountains, just in and around the city. I love Toyota and Honda's but have heard AWD is best for snow. Is this true with the type of winter that Denver has? Thanks!
Asked by Robin K - Tue May 13 14:36:34 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Robin, it is not the car, it is the driver! A superior car in snow will help somewhat, but it is the driver that makes the difference. When you are in Denver, in the first week of September winterize your car. Put an emergency kit that contains what you need to survive in a blizzard for 24 hours in your car. Blankets, food, water, shovel, cell phone, book to read, flashlight. You can get stuck a mile from home, and can be dangerous to leave car. I have seen 4x4's stuck there, and have blocked me in to where I could not go anywhere because of them. Have pulled them out, too, with fwd 86 olds. Pay attention to weather forecasts. If high winds are called for, and 35 degrees or less, stay home! Never let gas tank go below 1/2 full. Regards, [cont.]

What are the safest neighbourhoods in Denver to move to?
Q. I am likely moving to Denver in the fall, and am not at all familiar with the best areas to live. I may not have a car to begin with either, so somewhere close to coffee shops, or in it's own little neighborhood would be cool. Any suggestions for the best, safest areas? Would it be better to just go to Boulder instead of Denver itself?

A. Hello there. I lived in Denver without a car for a while, so I understand your situation!! The previous answerer recommended Highlands ranch, but unfortunately there is no train service to highlands ranch! I would suggest moving to littleton colorado. It has a perfect looking downtown area with several lovely cafes/coffee shops - my personal favorite is near the train station and is called romancing the bean. Littleton is perfect because it has a train line that heads towards downtown denver in the center of the city. If you would actually like to live downtown I would suggest washington park (good train/bus service - close to downtown) or LODO. Lodo is great because it has many trendy clubs cafe's etc. It is located right next to… [cont.]

What is there to do in Denver that is cheap and not outdoors?
Q. I'm going to Denver this week and I want to know what is there fun to do there? Something that's cheap and definitely NOT outdoors (hellooo snow storm!) Also, I saw a photo of a building in Denver that they light up every year with tons of colorful lights for Christmas. It's a white building and it's pretty big. Do they still light it up? What's the name of it? I thought that might be pretty cool to go see. Any other ideas?

A. You want to come to Denver and find something which is fun but yet you don't like the outdoors, I think you might be visiting the wrong city. What kind of things do you like doing and what is your price range on "cheap"? There are plenty of museums and art galleries such as the Denver Museum of Nature and Sciences, Denver Art Museum and Colorado History Museum. If that is not really what your into then there are plenty of other things to see and do like the Botanic Gardens, Denver Zoo and Downtown Aquarium. There is also the Denver Mint which offers free tours, Mon-Fri (8am-2pm). If you like shopping then the 16th Street Mall as everything you need including a free shuttle bus to take you from one end to the other. There is also… [cont.]

How difficult is to rent an apartment in Denver Colorado?
Q. I used to live in NY and renting an apartment was a hassle. Security deposit, first and last month, application deposit, credit check deposit, proof of employment and some cases if you didn't make 40,000 or more a year you were disqualified automatically. Anyways, my question is how difficult is to rent an apartment in Denver, how are the rents and how many of these things they ask you if you want to rent... anyone? Thanks in advance.

A. I would imagine it would depend on what part of town you moved to. They have illegals there that rent so that can't be to hard. If you get into the wrong part of town where they ride those crotch rockets you are in a bad part of Denver. They have the Asian & Mexican gangs with shootings and all that stuff. You might want to look at the outskirts of town. I was just up there in June.

Do you need a passport for a plane change from denver to canada to chicago?
Q. I am traveling from Phoenix to Chicago. But I make two plane changes on the way. One from phoenix to denver than the other from canada to chicago. Do I need a passport for this flight change even thouigh Im not actually intended on traveling to Canada just switching planes to get to chicago?
Asked by Jordan J - Sun Aug 5 09:17:42 2007 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. thats a really strange itinerary. Most of the time, the stops are in the same country. You might not need your passport if your next plane departs from the same terminal (in canada) but if you have to switch terminals, you might need your passport to get through security. You definately wont need your passport if you didnt have to change planes in Canada, but since you are, i think its best if you brought it just incase.

Q. I sent a large envelop with delivery confirmation first class from NY. Tracking online currently says that it is 'enroute and left the post office in Denver Colorado on Aug 29, 2007 at 220 am.' I needed it to arrive to its destination in Smithville Texas Sept 2nd 2007. The online tracking updates often. I'm concerned its not there yet. A. Assuming you are just getting your private certificate, which is what it sounds like, time of day will be irrelevant. What your timing will depend on is weather. Besides, you will have to log a few night hours anyway. Given the choice, I'd shoot for early morning. In the summer, that is probably the best time to fly - nice, relatively quiet, air is still calm from the night, etc. Its a good time.

A. Well, just like the rest of our country and economy some companies are on hiring freezes but there are still opportunities based on what I have seen in my recent search. Depending on the industry, some still have alot of openings (tech, accounting). Alot of foreclosures in Denver, which haven't helped prices along with low demand, but providing lots of good buying opportunities for first time buyers!

A. You would be thinking of I-70. As a former truck driver in Colorado, the mountains are very unpredictable. It could be sunny and warm on one side of a pass and slick and icy on the other. Colorado DOT does a good job of keeping the roads clear. If it is bad just take your time and no sudden movements on ice.
