Does anybody know a vet clinic for cats around Malate and Ermita, Manila?
Q. Our 8 month old cat has lost its appetite and I am very worried about her. I want to bring her to a vet, but I don't have much money. Please suggest clinics that are fairly affordable. It's a stray cat that we happened to take care of.
Asked by laconic - Fri Jun 6 03:31:03 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Hi there... consider ringing several of the clinics and ask about their fees. Additionally, consider asking if they have a feral cat program providing low cost/charitable services. Perhaps one of the clinics then can refer to a clinic who does provide the services.

A. She can ride a FX from Cubao to Mabini. She will get off when it reaches UN Avenue because that is a bigger and known street to get off. She will then cross and walk towards J. Bocobo St. or to be sure she can ask direction where is that street. It is just a block away and once she is in that street she only have to walk towards Robinson Place Manila and midway is the SLMEC.It doesn't have huge marking of SLMEC but it is a few storey gray building on the right side. It has a lot of people outside most of the time because of many applicants for medical and also peddlers of photo services and x-ray bags. Vistiting Manila in November. Where is the best place to stay, Quezon City, Malate, or Ermita?
Q. I am stopping in Manila for 3 days on my way to Dubai. I was wondering if the Tomas Morato, Timog area of Quezon City would be a good place to stay, or if I should stay in the traditional tourist areas of Malate or Ermita? Anyone know any benefits or downfalls of staying in these areas? Both areas are suppose to have a good nightlife, however, what are the differences? Mahalo,

A. Makati is better, its safer and the bars and the crowd are more upscale in the greenbelt-glorietta area (good shopping). the Makati Ave., still have a lot of girly bars and Westerners. the malate area have smaller bars and the crowd is varied from hookers to tourists. The timog - T. Morato area is more family oriented and the restaurants and bars are really full only fridays and saturdays. and hookers on Q. Ave. can be found under the trees in this street but definitely not good looking. so its up to you what you're looking for. so wherever you go hookers are everywhere.

Q. I am coming to Manila next week and staying in Ermita how are things after the storm? Are the malls open as usual? and things operating ? Thats good to hear. A. All roads are passable, and all business establishments are open, so it is business as usual. Ermita was not in the eye of the storm. Neither was it flooded like those you see on TV where flood waters rose to as high as roofs of 2-storey houses. The only damage that Ermita sustained was a little flooding in the streets. The streets have been cleaned so it is back to normal. HOWEVER, there is a supertyphoon (named as Pepeng locally, with international name PARMA) that is estimated to make landfall tomorrow. While it is tracking to hit the northern Luzon provinces, there is still a possibility of the typhoon changing course. Or even if it actually lands in the north, it could still affect Manila. Which LRT or MRT should I ride to get from Ninoy Internation airport in manila to Ermita?
Q. How can you get to the LRT or MRT station from the airport as well? Does anyone have a route map and schedule? Thank you.
Asked by pc - Mon Sep 25 12:22:52 2006 - - 12 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I agree with the previous answers here. From the airport just take a cab to your destination in Ermita. It'll spare you the hassles of taking too many rides, since the MRT/LRT stations aren't easily accessible from NAIA. Taxi fare would be around P300 at the most from the airport to Ermita. Ask the taxi driver first how much he'll charge before you ride the cab. If a cabbie charges P500 up, tell him this is not the first time that you travelled, or ask another cab. By the way, only the LRT is within the vicinity of Ermita, since it travels along Taft Avenue (from Baclaran, Paranaque City to Monumento, Kalookan City). MRT 1 is along EDSA Avenue, starting at Pasay and ending in North Ave, Quezon City Good luck and enjoy your visit to the… [cont.]

A. Hotel Sogo in Malate is quite inexpensive; ask around for their promos. If you go to their site ( you'll see that they have a "room and massage" package for only PhP 500! There are tons of lodging houses in Mother Ignacia St., including Victoria Court (pricier than Sogo) with its quirky theme rooms. Hope you have a nice time here!

A. Coming from CSB (College of St. Benilde) , take any public transport headed north (Quiapo, Sta Cruz, etc). When traversing Taft Avenue, get off at Padre Faura Street. Cross the street and walk along Padre Faura, to the direction of Ermita/Malate. You will be at Robinson's Place Ermita in about 15 minutes or less. So you will be certain that you are in the right direction, you will see the Supreme Court on your way while walking towards Robinson's Place.
