Could Europe become a superpower to rival America economically?
Q. Could Europe actually become a superpower? Please refer to the possibility of a European stockmarket taking over from Wall Street as the leading stock market, Europe's influence in international affairs, and whether becomming a superpower would be a good thing.

A. Right now, there are two global powers: US and China, though US has more military might, both have extensive international influence and contacts. There are three military superpowers: Israel is number one, followed by US, then Russia. There are several economic superpowers: Europe, China, US. There are many regional powers: Brazil, Australia, Japan. It would be a good thing for the US to have competing powers. One major bully in the world causes instability (as it does in any group--village, city, state). There needs to be a balance of powers, else you end up with dictatorship and totalitarianism, as you now have in the US internally with no checks on the administraive branch from a one-party government and a Jelly Fish Congress and… [cont.]

Do you think the global fear over swine flu is justified?
Q. The so-called "swine flu" virus, comprised of bird, pig and human components, has caused tremendous concern around the world in recent days, with many wondering if this is the global pandemic scientists and health care professionals have been forecasting for quite some time. SARS and avian/bird flu were also thought to be pandemics when first discovered, but while both caused deaths and serious illnesses, neither developed into the catastrophe some were warning of. What do you think? Are we right to be seriously concerned about this outbreak, or is it being blown out of proportion? A. There are about 109 million people in Mexico and 33 million in Canada. 150 have died from swine flu. So 150 deaths amounts to less than .00010% of 142 million people. So of course it's being blown out of proportion. Fear is the pandemic here, not the swine flu. I have a sneaking suspicion the PharMafia is behind this. Their sales must be down this month.
