Contaminated baby milk, candy, food products and medication?
Q. When will China be required by the UN to stop exporting consumer foods and medications that are killing babies and children? Are these answers part of a Chinese Lobby. Where is Obama?

A. Not soon enough, I have a $2000.00 vet bill for tainted pet food. It so hard to buy all made in America good b/c everything is from China. All I guess we can do as citizens it buy from America when possible. I keep forgetting this isnt an America only forum. So insert your country where I said America. I have noticed England makes the best BPA free bottles.

Consider the following scenario: You work for a company that manufacturers?
Q. Consider the following scenario: You work for a company that manufacturers skateboards. Until now your company has only sold their skateboards domestically, but now the CEO is interested in exporting the skateboards to Australia. The CEO asks you to design a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation to present at the next board of directors meeting. This presentation will serve to educate the directors in the matters of foreign investment and international investment theory. At the end of the presentation, you must make a recommendation of whether or not you think the company should enter the foreign market and support your decision with solid information. Yes this is an assignment; but its my first week and I'm lost!!!lol I am not looking for… [cont.]

A. I'd begin by doing market research on Australia. What sports/extreme sports are popular there? What are the demographics? Do they have skate parks? Are there any famous Australian skateboarders that could be a spokesperson? If you find that the market research and demographics support export to this country, start working on the logistics of getting your skateboards there. Believe it or not, many ocean carriers are not interested in taking on US exports at all. They'd rather ship empty containers back to China in order to be reloaded quickly than fill them with American-made goods. I suggest finding a 3PL (third party logistics) company to help you find pricing and routing information. Also, are there tariffs? How will you… [cont.]

Question on inflation and the merits of a barter system?
Q. Say you borrow a dollar from a friend to buy a candy bar. If the value of the dollar increases the next day, so that you can buy two candy bars with one dollar, you could sell the candy bar for two dollars and pay your friend back the one dollar you owe him, because technically you only borrowed one dollar, right? Now what about the opposite? Remember in pre-WWII Germany how hyperinflation caused people to take their paychecks home in wheelbarrows, and a loaf of bread to cost over a million Deutsch Marks? Imagine a situation like that. If you borrowed 50 thousand dollars from a friend to buy a candy bar, but the next day everything went back to normal, and the candy bar was only worth one dollar, would you still owe your friend 50… [cont.]

A. Before advocating for a barter system, consider the three main functions that money serve: 1. Medium of exchange - The person who has strawberries but wants apples may not find someone with apples who wants strawberries. The person with apples may want something else instead. They would both have to make a number of exchanges with others who want their products until they both get what they want. Society cannot achieve any kind of prosperity with such a system because everybody would be spending most of their time bartering instead of being engaged in productive work. 2. Unit of account - Money provides a way to measure relative values of thousands or millions of goods and services. Without money, people would have to memorize… [cont.]
