What is the best mastering software to use with FL Studio 8?
Q. FL Studio is a start up program I am using until later on when I upgrade to Pro-Tools. I am interested in learning how to edit and master my own audio recordings. I have heard that Cubase is good, so is Sonar and Adobe Audition/ cool edit pro. Which would be best for FL Studio 8 xxl edition

A. You can mix and master in FL Studio 8. You just need to use the right plugins...Usually for mastering, you'll need a compressor/limiter (ex. - Fruity Compressor, Maximus), an equalizer (ex. - Fruity Parametric EQ, Fruity Parametric EQ2), and a multiband compressor (ex. - Fruity Multiband Compressor). You can use the plugins that came with FL, but they're not the best. They're not bad, but not the best. I would suggest getting some Waves plugins. They're extremely expensive, though - the Mercury Bundle, which I use, retails for $7900. It's not cheap, but these plugins were basically made for mastering purposes. I do prefer to mix in Adobe Audition, though. I just find it easier. You can also use the Waves plugins (and any other… [cont.]

How do I get rid of echo in FL studio 8?
Q. I have found a bunch of awesome sounding instruments in FL studio 8, but nearly all of them have some sort of echo that ruins it. It's cool for some of them, but when you have, like 7 different things going that keep repeating themselves, then it sounds like trash. How do I fix it?
Asked by Braden - Tue May 5 05:16:41 2009 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments
A. this will only help if all those awesome sounds are from the sytrus plugin. it took me a while but i got it... on the right side of the plugin theres i dunno... 50 dials. you'll notice some of them r lit up and some aren't. there's a column of dials at the top right between 'out' and 'pan' this is the 'fx' column. follow it down til u see a dial (sometimes 2, but almost always one) that's lit up in this column, adjust this dial it will adjust the echo, i do this all the time. if its pointing directly up, there should be no echo at all. happy beat making :D ps. if this did not help... lol *shrugs shoulders*

What is the Collab program that came with FL Studio?
Q. I was wondering what is the program "Collab" about? It comes with FL Studio when it downloads to the computer. I wanna uninstall it but not sure about the effect on my FL Studio.

A. Collab is a program that lets composers collaborate on music together though the internet. It's really not that good of a program. Uninstalling it wont affect your FL Studio at all. Besides, they're going to stop supporting it soon.

A. Looks like two questions to me. Let's start with the second one so that the answer to the first one makes more sense. For sound routing, ignore the playlist for now. Just know that the sounds come from the channels (F6) and by default, are routed to the main out of the mixer (F9). Select the channel (literally highlight the button in the channel window, F6) that is making the sound you want to adjust. Now open the mixer (F9) and right-click on any mixer track that is not connected to anything (i.e. - Insert 14) and select "Link selected channels>to this track". Now the instrument, audio clip, or whatever is making the sound in that channel is routed to that mixer track. The output of that track is automatically sent to the main… [cont.]

How do you loop a track contineously on FL Studio 8?
Q. I have a 5 seconds track that I need to loop contineously for a while, how can I do this on FL Studio 8? Thanks.
Asked by Stubby - Tue Mar 3 14:55:01 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. First, you should tap your tempo. Right click on the tempo, then click tap. Click the tap in tempo with your loop. Then open your loop in SliceX. Your loop should automatically plot itself out in the step sequencer. You can either place this pattern constantly in your playlist, if you're looking to mix it, or if you just want to hear it loop for yourself, click the loop button in the SliceX window (next to play and pause).
