FrenchVerbformulas
SpanishVerbformulas (infinitive: formular) From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. In mathematics and other sciences, a formula (plural: formulas or formulae is a concise way of expressing information symbolically (as in a mathematical or chemical formula), or a general relationship between quantities. One of many famous formulae is Albert Einstein's E = mc (see special relativity). In mathematics, a formula is a key to solve an equation with variables. For example, the problem of determining the volume of a sphere is one that requires a significant amount of integral calculus to solve. However, having done this once, mathematicians can produce a formula to describe the volume in terms of some other parameter (the radius for example). This particular formula is: Having determined this result, and having a sphere of which we know the radius we can quickly and easily determine the volume. Note that the quantities V, the volume, and r the radius are expressed as single letters. This convention, while less important in a relatively simple formula, means that mathematicians can more quickly manipulate larger and more complex formulae. In general mathematical use there is no essential difference in meaning with the term "expression", although the word "formula" tends to be reserved for an expression that "can stand on its own", that has a meaning outside of the immediate context in which it appears and a significance that can be grasped intuitively. In a general context, formulae are applied to provide a mathematical solution for real world problems. Some may be general: F = ma, which is one expression of Newton's second law, is applicable to a wide range of physical situations. Other formulae may be specially created to solve a particular problem; for example, using the equation of a sine curve to model the movement of the tides in a bay. In all cases however, formulae form the basis for all calculations. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License What are some important formulas used for solving algebra problems? When is each used and how are they used? Q. This is a question I have, I'm in ninth grade, so it probably shouldn't be too hard. The thing I don't understand is that how is there just a few important formulas, when there are so many formulas over all. Can someone answer and explain this question to me please? Asked by Kari - Sun Aug 30 12:51:09 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. in order to solve an equation you must have an equal sign. it is not an equation unless you have a Left Hand Side (LHS) of the equation, and a Right Hand Side (RHS) of the equation. let me mention non equations for a paragraph: If there is no equal sign (or greater than or less than) you do the rules of Order of Operations to simplify, and that is all you can do when no equation, you cannot change what it is, just how it looks. example: 3/3. you can multiple by one (1/3)/(1/3) to make it into 1/1 = 1. but you did not change its reduced value. with equations, the Order of Operations allows you to strip away the parts on the LHS or RHS you do not want often, by doing the parts of the Order of Operations that are least. ex: 4*(3x + 2 )^2 - [cont.] Answered by eawoodall - Sun Aug 30 13:33:16 2009 How do I calculate empirical formulas for chemistry? Q. I need help. My homework gives a model of a molucule consisting of 6 carbon atoms and 4 oxygen atoms. How the heck do I calculate the emirical and molecular formulas with only that info? Thanks! Asked by Doodlebug - Sat Sep 29 21:31:20 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Empirical is just the simplest formula of elements, so your answer is C6O4. This is different to other chemical formulas because it does not give any indication of structure of molecules just what's in it and how many. Bit of extra info just in case. Q. Do the liquid states of Oxygen and Hydrogen still retain the O2 and H2 chemical formulas, or do they change? Asked by jacobib713 - Sat Nov 24 12:01:08 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Liquid hydrogen is the liquid state of the element hydrogen. Its name is often abbreviated LH2 In the same way the common formula of liquid oxigen is LOx The formulas are the same ( H2 and O2 ) but these symbols are often used Answered by Dr.A - Sat Nov 24 12:09:47 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "formulas" Ingredient Economics
