What is it like to be a gifted education teacher?
Q. I've been in the gifted program my whole life an now I'm thinking about becoming a gifted teacher. Do gifted teachers get paid more than regular teachers? What is it like? Is it better to teach middle or elementary school kids? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

A. hey I'm pretty sure that you don't get paid any extra for teaching gifted students. As far as preference goes, that's totally up to you. It's all a matter of making a connection with students and what age group you feel comfortable with. I really don't think it matters what you teach, it's such a rewarding career!

A. It depends on the school districts; some use a combination of IQ and achievement test scores, while others may also consider teacher recommendation. I would say as far as IQ, most districts begin qualifying students at 130 or higher. Mildly Gifted -- 115 to 129 Moderately Gifted -- 130 to 144 Highly Gifted -- 145 to 159 Exceptionally Gifted -- 160 to 179 Profoundly Gifted -- 180

Cousin need some help.he's a 7th grader and is in GATE(Gifted and Talented Education).?
Q. he's in every Gate class. Language Arts, Algebra, Science,World history ect. so Can you give him tips on what's best to do on each subject? Thanks in advance. : )

A. I was in every gate class as well, and its not as scarry as it sounds. I continued on into high school, which was a little harder, but if you study you will be fine. English[language arts], will have reading which you have to compleat, and test to make sure you did it, as well as essays and some poems, yet if you keep on top of your reading you will be fine. Algebra, math is something you can always rely on, its rare that your school offers algebra as a 7th grader most do that 8th but math is math you know when you have the right answer. science, do the work study flash cards history read, flash cards Remember middle school honors is when you learn to procrastinate and get A's with out doing much so that your ready for high shchool.
