Has the media coverage of the missing girl in the UK gone overboard?
Q. I saw this headline and I am kind of disgusted. Any coverage of a missing child or person is never bad. This little girl did not choose to become some kind of celebrity she is missing. The only wrong thing is there is not enough equal coverage for all the missing children. Yes, but that is the media's fault not hers. So she shouldn't get a lot of coverage b/c she is white and pretty. You people are totally missing the point. All children should be receiving this kind coverage!

A. yes, here it is with various others. here she is reading the story on her mother casey's my space page.I have her added as friend but you may have to make a my space account to see it i am not sure. They (the family)does not use my space as means for searching anymore..(odd huh?)it was their main source when it began. I would keep it up and going if i was searching for my child. But obviously this family has something to hide.I feel!!! Another thing when the family first reported her missing they said june 9th?but then the grandmother realized this was taped june 16th this exact video.so obviously shes not correct on all of her dates either.

Whos paying the $5mil. reward for the missing girl? How did they get Beckham to do an on air plea?
Q. I dont really watch the news & I know people on Answers are frustrated w/this case, but I just wanted to know. Is the fam rich that they have $5 mil for a reward & do they personally know Beckham? How did he get involved? & are they that tied in to royalty or something as to how soo much coverage is going on for this missing girl...heads up anyone, would be appreciated...

A. Many celebrities have been jumping on the support bandwagon and pledging thousands, upon hundreds of throusands of dollars to the reward for the missing girl. The author of the Harry Potter books (her name escapes me), pledged the $5 million you are asking about. And as for Beckham...he's Bristish...so is the little girl, thus the perfect chance for him to get some airtime as well as show a little respect for his country. He's just one of the many trying to get some glamour out of this 'tragedy'.

A. The first thing I have to bring to attention is that these two are drug addicts. Firstly, notice their enlarged irises, both Ronald and Missy. Secondly, notice that their teeth are being chemically eroded by some chemical that they ingest. Believe it or not, addicts can appear to function reasonably and even hold a job. Heroin is the most likely candidate. In my opinion, it's one of these two scenarios: Either it's a drug deal gone wrong, with Ronald being unable to repay the cost of drugs that the two of them 'require'. So, the supplier of drugs, (possibly Missy's 'cousin' that visited, then left town that day, and purportedly had an argument with Ronald 'involving a gun'), took the child in order to 'teach Ronald a lesson'...Yeah,… [cont.]

It turns out to be the ice cream man, and he knows because he hears the ice cream truck. The ice cream man and his wife take the girl and put powder on her dark hair to make it look blonde... Why is it more important to the media when a pretty young white girl is missing/murdered than a minority girl?
Q. or unnatractive, overweight white girl Is it because we as a society assume pretty white suburbanite white girls will lead happy, successful lives and to have it cut short is a greater tragedy than if it happened to a minority or unattractive poor white girl?

A. I think there is a racist bias in most Western media. Most is cultural, but there is probably some financial incentive involved as well as a genetic component to the bias - the last two very difficult to put a number on. I asked, after seeing the film Poltergeist, Why is the potential victim a sweet, young, blond girl instead of a young boy? Same thing after seeing The Exorcist. In both films, the involvement (the emotional connection/commitment) of the audience to the young female would have been much less if it had been a young male. Bottom Line (for me and many others) : Males are far more "expendable" than females. You're criticism is on track towards the various biases that our media and society have in general...and it's… [cont.]

Chief Madeleine detective charged over 'beating' of suspect in another missing girl case?
Q. The detective leading the hunt for Madeleine McCann has sensationally been charged over his conduct in another missing child case. Goncalo Amaral, head of the regional Judicial Police, is one of five officers accused over the beating-up of a suspect during questioning. They are said to have attacked Leonor Cipriano, whose nine-year-old daughter Joana vanished from the Algarve in 2004. Should the parents of the missing girl in Portugal be questioned about their neglect?
Q. I mean, if this had happened in the UK then surely they would have been taken in for questioning and possibly charged? I don't think three young children should be left alone like that. Some people are arguing that you can't watch over your children 24/7, and that eating out at a restaurant is only the same as leaving your child indoors whilst you hang the washing out or have them sleep in the bedroom whilst you sit downstairs watching t.v. It is not the same at all and these are just stupid comments. Of course when you're at home you aren't always going to be in the same room as your children, but this isn't a case of the mother's back being turned for a moment. This child was left alone. Whether thats at home or in a holiday… [cont.]

A. These parents should have been arrested by now in my opinion. I know every effort needs to be made to find this poor little girl but I cant believe that everyone seems to be passing by the fact that these parents (who are both doctors!!! where is the intelligence?!) left their young children alone whilst going for a meal. Its absolutely ridiculous. Its exaclty the same as leaving your child in the house alone whilst going to the pub and popping back in every half hour! A lot can happen in half an hour and now the worst possible thing has happened because of their irresponsibility. And it does seem a little fishy doesnt it? I mean who in their right mind actually leaves their young children?! They should be ashamed of themselves. I… [cont.]

What do you think about the Caylee Anthony case of this little girl missing?
Q. There is so much going on with this case..so many things don't add up. Just was wondering what you thoughts were on this case. Caylee is from Florida, missing since June, mother fail to report her missing. Grandparents called the police to report her missing. Mother remains in jail and has charges against her. Law enforcement is very actively investigating this case. It is a major media thing.
Asked by Advocate - Thu Aug 7 10:11:22 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I think that Casey knows what happened to Caylee, and was responsible for the child's disappearance (but not necessarily death... unfortunately I do think Caylee is dead by now, but it could have been an accident and the mom just didn't know what to do a la Freedomland) and the grandmother knows that Casey knows all about it, and is responsible, but refuses to believe that Casey would actually do something like that.

A. her mother's definitely hiding something.she just seems so indifferent that i wouldn't be surprised if she was neglectful to her daughter.it's like she doesn't even care that her own kid is missing and the fact that everyone who knows her calls her a liar is even more suspicious.

when does a girl start missing her periods in pregnancy?
Q. for instance, if we had sex on the first of july and she got her period on time on 5th july, does it indicate that she wont get pregnant due to last sex activity which we had on 1st ? or is there still a possbility that she may miss her 5th august period ?
Asked by Gypsy - Sun Jul 27 07:14:06 2008 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If the girl has regular menstrual cycle as you mentioned on time at every 5th of each month, the sex you had with her on the 1st of July was on her non fertile period in which less likely she will get pregnant. However, if her menstrual cycle is irregular, she may had implantation bleeding (when the zygote implant to the endometrial wall) on the 5th of July and she is pregnant. If it worries you whether or not your partner is pregnant, go for the urine pregnancy test. If she is pregnant, you won't have to wait for the next two weeks for the answer.

A. I find this to be so sad. That little girl just vanished, no clues or anything. I really feel bad for this family, and now that the dad is being deployed-you are absolutely right, he would be a danger to himself and others, who can think clearly when a child goes missing, let alone in a situation like he is facing. I hope the military reconsiders this, and lets him stay at least until something breaks in this heart wrenching case.

Why is the missing girl from Endland so important?
Q. I am not saying its not important but why is everyone donating money? Why is she on national news? Similar to Elizabeth Smart and why she was so important when she couldn't even find her way home, but no one heard about the young black girl who chewed through some rope and made her way home and she was 1/2 the age of Elizabeth Smart? Do things that happen in Black neighborhoods not as imortant as things that happen in White neighborhoods?

A. I don't think it has to do with her skin colour, I think it's because her parents are well-off British people. As for Elizabeth Smart.. that's another story.

Missing British girl found in France, but what can be learnt?
Q. Of course the man is to blame entirely. The fact that he had been bailed in a rape enquiry is something people will draw their own conclusions about. But what about the girl's role? Should someone aged 15 know better than to wander off abroad with someone from a chat room? And why would he add another serious crime to his record, especially when someone aged 15 is so close to the age of consent?
Asked by Emasculated Britain - Wed Jan 21 13:17:55 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. That same thing happened here in the US and she was found in Greece. It was a miracle her parents were able to track her down. She was so traumatized that she couldn't speak of the things that were done to her. Teenagers can't think like adults, the part of their brain that reasons out consequences isn't fully developed yet. She couldn't see down the road as to how this would turn out. Parents need to tighten things up at home and watch their kids.
