What is the energy role the Golgi Apparatus?
Q. And how does it interact with other organelles? Thanks.

A. Well, for a response that actually answers your question and isn't copied from a book/website, the Golgi is basically like a center of shipping and manufacturing and storing and sorting in the cell. I'm sure you knew that, but I'm just clearing things up. The Golgi has a distinct structural polarity, with the membranes of cisternae on the opposite sides differing in thickness and composition. The two poles are called the cis and trans face, and they act as the shipping centers. This is how the Golgi interacts with other organelles. Transport vesicles move from the ER to the Golgi. And then the Golgi usually modifies the products of the ER while moving from the cis to trans regions. Then the Golgi sorts the products and targets them for… [cont.]

Do plant cells have lysosomes or golgi bodies?
Q. Do plant cells have lysosomes or golgi bodies? If not, could you please tell me 12 organelles found in a plant cell? Thank you!

A. H-m-m-m? Not sure there are twelve organelles in a typical plant cell! But as to the first part, plant cells do have Golgi bodies (also called dictyosomes) which have the same functions as in animal cells. Lysosomes are lacking in plant cells. Here is a list of organelles typically found in plant cells: Plasma membrane, nucleus, nucleolus, central vacuole or tonoplast, chloroplast (in some tissues but not all), mitochondria, Golgi body, ribosomes, smooth endoplasmic reticulum, rough endoplasmic reticulum, vesicles, endocytoskeleton of microtubules, microfilaments, intermediate filaments. plasmodesmata, The cell wall is a secreted, non-living portion of the cell.

what is the function of golgi bodies, endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria?
Q. i looked up these terms and i dont get what the information is telling me. its to confusing. so can u please give me a SIMPLE explanation so i can understand it? please and thanks!

A. Golgi Bodies: The primary function of the Golgi apparatus is to process and package the macromolecules such as proteins and lipids that are synthesized by the cell. It is particularly important in the processing of proteins for secretion. The Golgi apparatus forms a part of the endomembrane system of eukaryotic cells. Endoplasmic Reticulum: Endoplasmic reticulum is a network of tubules, vesicles and sacs that are interconnected. They may serve specialized functions in the cell including protein synthesis, sequestration of calcium, production of steroids, storage and production of glycogen, and insertion of membrane proteins. Mitochondria: The chief function of the mitochondria is to create energy for cellular activity by the process… [cont.]
