A. Sophomore and junior year. The colleges see all your grades from high school but those to years are what counts for the GPA's they look at.

How does someone skip a grade in middle school?
Q. My best friend Sean is in seventh grade and is really smart. He wants to skip a grade because he gets along with older, more mature people like kids in eighth grade! What does he have to do to get looked at and what is the process? Please be as descriptive as possible because I really want to help him. Also, how does he get noticed? I need as many answers as possible! It's vary important. Please share your knowlege.

A. Hm... The problem here is that instead of skipping a grade he would probably go in to the honors program of skipping a grade. Also, it might depend on his age. I myself am in the honors program at high school. Before I moved I was in an gifted school. I am also about a year younger than my friends, but that's because I started school early. I suggest he talk with his counselor. A grade skip would probably be hard to achieve although all cities and states have different education laws. His best chance might be to research with his parents and eventually present the information to your administrators. Don't overlook the fact that "social maturity" is the number one criticism. But, you did say he gets along with "more mature people." … [cont.]

A. They start getting calls from the registrar telling them to hurry up and submit grades. No, you still get a grade, it just takes longer.
